Selling vs Salvage

If you are wondering what to do with this in order to get the most money out of it, I have an advice: Don't sell it to the merchant.

Let's see why:

You can sell it for 20g. OR Salvage it using a simple salvage kit, and you get a minimum of 4 piles of dust.

The dust can be sold for 150g / 10 pile ATM, so 1 pile worth 15 gold coins. Now, it seems that you can strike a better deal, as you can get at least 4 piles from 1 Demonic remains. BUT you have to take into account the cost of the salvage kit, which is 100g (If you are using the basic one.), and can be used to salvage 25 Demonic remains. So the cost of 1 salvage is 4 gold coins. Now let's subtract that from the profit/pile:

15-4 = 11 

Given that you get a minimum of 4 piles, the net profit of salvaging is:

((P/10)-4)*4 , where P is the money the material trader gives you for 10 piles of dust.

Now, in my example, using the 150g / 10 piles (which can be a lot higher):

((150/10)-4)*4 = 44

So in the end, by salvaing the remains, you are making 44 gold coins instead of 20. That's almost the double money. At the time of this post.

Of course, the actual profit may change, depending on the market. In order to be profitable, the minimum price for 10 piles needs to be lower than 90 gold coins, as even if you are selling it at that price, it's worth 20g.

And, the best of all, half the time you will get 5 piles insted of 4, futher improving your profits. you don't even need to sell it. Piles of Glittering Dust are needed to craft con sets, which are allways in high demand.
