Implementation Oversight?[edit]
It always seemed weird to me that this item, unlike Desolation Sword or Desolation Maul for instance, is nowhere to be found in PvE.
In terms of aesthetics it also looks like something you can find on Istan, so perhaps it originally was found there, until they renamed it and wanted to use it for Awakened or Treasure instead.
The fact that is can be found by proxy through Shakahm's Striker, which is dropped by a boss in the Realm of Torment could also suggest that it was meant to drop in either region, as it is the case with the other two Desolation weapons.
Or perhaps I'm just reading too much into things ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ —Zerpha
