Talk:Earth damage
Ritualist Wands[edit]
Is it worth mentioning that some ritualist wands deal random elemental damage as well as dark/chaos ? --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 19:01, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
No damage boost mentioned.[edit]
So basically, if the damage is less in general, then we should not run earth magic and go for a water, fire, or air variant. Since fire is bigger on AoE damage, which is definately better than anyone's obsidian flame, you should go fire. But--when fire is less-able, such as against Destroyers, you should run water or air...Since air, again is less on AoE damage, which = more damage overall, and more team support and generally better...you should go Water, especially with the new Rust buff, this makes Water the runner up in damage. But--when you're not going for damage and you need more utility support, earth is there for knockdowns, I can only see one elite that really has it--Unsteady Ground. It's AoE, which is good, and it also has the KD, which the condition is easily met in NM or HM. So basically, Air is mostly out of the picture. [In PvE, that is. Air is better in PvP because of the armor ignoring/penetrating bonuses for spiking and general sexiness.] Water Magic also has Deep Freeze, which has an in-the-area effect range, which is the largest damage + snare spell in the game. Paired with Glowing Ice to manage energy, and Rust as a follow spike, water has more capability than earth, in general. Idk, just thinking outloud here--Ʀєʟʟɑ 23:52, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- You forgot spells like Eruption, Unsteady Ground and Churning Earth, which deal just as much damage as their Fire counterparts, but generally have a larget area too. 145.94.74.23 14:48, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Resistance[edit]
So fire elementals and Destroyers are resistant to earth? I didn't see any note on their respective pages to suggest it... Rather, those pages say they're resistant to cold damage and fire damage, respectively. Can anyone confirm? --RoyHarmon 20:46, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
