Talk:Enchanter's Conundrum

Why was this skill given an increased cast time? Never seen this skill used even once in RA, AB, or anywhere else for that matter. Sure it does high damage, but still the health loss is easily recoverable and the recast time is ridiculously long (like all of other other mesmer elites). Was there a hidden exploit that only a few players knew about or what, that caused the increased casting time for this never used before elite?William Wallace 10:05, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

This is why. And yes, it is very common in RA, AB, and anywhere else. --71.229@home kk? 10:26, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Odd, never seen it used before but possibly took them down way too quick for them to even use it and really how is that build powerful when the recharge time on the skills are ridiculously long.William Wallace 06:13, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

use auguies and shatter delusion(maybe shatter enchantment) and they will usually be left with about 50 hp 76.26.189.65 08:33, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Finally, they change it, an awesome staple but boredom at best when it was used abusively by the whole community with Shatter Delusions, with this skill, the Me started to look like an Elementalist but with huge armor ignoring damage every 20 seconds. Though, it's still deadly.--ShadowFog 12:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Easy to spike with now, so definitely a buff. Dark Morphon(contribs) 16:28, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
oh right, didn't even notice that ^^ —ZerphatalkThe Improver 02:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Well I can see a strip enchantments and then applying this... however, you will need some fast casting because a 2 second cast is too long...SabreWolf 18:15, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Not much of a conundrum now is it? Nyktos 04:25, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
It should be called "Skill Builder's Condundrum" because this is one strange ass skill to use due to the 10 sec downtime. --8765 08:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Nerfed[edit]

Not under a hex or enchantment now, makes it difficult to use in any uncoordinated teams, and it's not going to be used in coordinated teams. 76.89.81.150 23:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Izzy swings, and four more skills are removed from the game! He's on a real tear here, folks! --71.229.204.25 23:16, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Should lower the recharge to 15 secs, and scale the duration to fit that recharge at 15 in dom... So basically 15s recharge, 5...15s duration, or something. I doubt this skill will be used in that form, but at least it won't be completely worthless... I think? Saphatorael 20:07, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
No doubt is worthless. This mean there can be only one profession hexing if you want to deal it's damage because then you will stuck with a weak Arcane Conundrum. Izzy is very well aware of this. In GuildWars website, theres a page that shows how many time a skill has been used in certain arenas. He is well aware of this numbers and know that is unplayable. As a reason why he has not taking a consideration to take this skill and MANY others back to a playable status, I dont know. Maybe hes just eliminating skills so players will be limited to 1 or 2 elites to make their builds on.--ShadowFog 02:43, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Quite Good[edit]

This skill is much better than I thought after I tried it in RA. It works good with Shatter Enchantment for a decent spike (e.g. Shatter Enchantment -> Enchanter's Conundrum -> Power Spike) and it acts like the domination magic version of Arcane Conundrum since many classes in pvp rely on enchantments (especially monks). This spell makes interrupting much easier, without even using illusion magic --Soulforged User Soulforged sig.jpg 14:57, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Heroes[edit]

Do heroes use this on foes with enchants or without enchantments? 72.95.49.35 22:59, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately, both. At least from what I've seen anyway. 70.145.246.222 13:52, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Icon[edit]

Anyone know what the skill icon for this is supposed to represent? Kinda looks like a sort of deformed hand, but what does that have to do with "Enchanter's Conundrum"? Mist Y 18:24, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
