Bug[edit]
That's one of the most useful bugs I've ever seen! As a side note, the quest dialog is probably incorrect, since it refers to the quarry (meaning the Jade Quarry). I'd update it, but I'm at work... Freedom Bound 16:53, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
It is very useful - it could take an age to get enough wins in FA - harder to have a decent team than in JQ. However it has brought out a lot of lazy people who aren't willing to even play a match through and spend the game whining for everyone to resign. 90.214.111.31 00:10, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
A clean, full team resign, will rarely happen. Still speeds up the quest VERY quickly 60.241.230.79 00:47, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
and how many people are claiming this is an exploit and trying to get people banned for it? quite a few in the matches ive been in. truesimzy 00:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
ITS BEEN FIXED, REMOVE TAG
there wasnt an update so how was this fixed? truesimzy 01:00, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Idk. it wont contunue to update my quest log, and ive won/loss +10 times
- It goes to 9? --Riddle 01:23, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Has anyone confirmed if the bug has been fixed? I'd really like to know cause I've been reported for not resigning, even when I'm 1/3 that haven't resigned.--Venture 01:56, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Reported for not resigning... LOL! [edit] Ooops, forgot to sign 60.241.230.79 02:14, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

The bug has been fixed 60.241.230.79 02:44, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- I was having fun with this bug, me being the only one not resigned and no one knew - I enjoyed watching luxons QQ as they lost *though many Kurzicks were equally bad* -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 02:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Allegiance bashing is for the weak. If you're farming for faction, it's faster to resign and take the zquest rewards. Plus, speed clears are faster than FA/JQ period. You're pretty much a greifer. --8765 06:30, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Or, you know, he is playing a part of the game the way it is meant to be played? Personally, I didn't buy Guild Wars so I could resign matches. And anyway, why should I ever resign when there is at least one Kurzick that hasn't? 90.214.111.31 12:35, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's one day. Plus not everyone plays the "way it's meant to be played." People look for exploits and such all the time. If everyone played as they're expected, then every organized pvp would be balanced, and you'd never see any overpowered gimmicks or builds based off an exploit/bug. Why a.net really bothered to fix the bug the same day, was rather unnecessary. Most of the bug exploiters would be done after one day, and they would have plenty of time later to fix the bug. For 105 copper zcoins each zquest, people would have their heavy equip bag in no time. Hence that's one reason a.net chose to fix the bug asap. --8765 17:58, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's one day. You can play normally for one day, and get back to your heavy farming tomorrow. Don't try to ruin the fun for the rest of us who like to play the game as it's meant to be played just so you can get zcoins faster. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:198.37.19.137 (talk).
- Umm, the one day phrase cannot be turned around in your favor. You have plenty of days to play normally. The zquest deal is one day, since a majority of people who are hardcore about it will finish it the day it's released. Your fun is ruined for one day. Zquest ppl are just about grinding their ass off for a minor upgrade. A.net happened to fix the bug sooner than later, and it would have been fixed anyways before the FA quest re-cycled again. --8765 17:41, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, it can. Think about it. You're asking the people who want to play the way FA was designed to change how they play for one day. I'm asking people who want to play a different way to play the designed way for one day, so as not to ruin the fun of the others. Zquests will be there every day, why should people who like CMs need to change how they play for the people who grind the same things over and over for minor upgrades?198.37.19.137 18:49, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- People who want to play it as it's suppose to can play it ANY other time but that ONE day. ONE DAY out of 3 years and counting of FA. Think about it: One day is "ruined" out of 3 years and ongoing. This bug will not occur again. True, zquests are there everyday, but FA is not, nor is the bug associated with it. A.net just happened to fix the bug during the FA zquest day, rather than wait until the next scheduled patch, before the FA zquest appeared again. People who like CM can afford to "change" how they play: PLAY SOMETHING ELSE for one day. People who are grinding for the upgrades are getting a jump on the progress. They are being efficient, using a thorough method, and being diligent on their way to obtaining it. If you are playing CMs for the fun of it, you can afford one day of not playing and in fact play something else for one day and experience other arenas. When you're a grinder, you can't afford to miss opportunities like this one. You are asking people to not be clever, to be mundane, not question anything & do exactly as they're expected, or not explore new & all aspects of the game. --8765 19:38, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm asking people not to participate in match manipulation. Read the rules of conduct; while not often punished (although not unheard of, if you've been reading a few forums lately), it is against the rules. They are not being efficient, they were exploiting a bug in the game, they were breaking the rules. Also, should I feel pity for the people who like to grind all the time? They're playing how they like, and asking me to change how I play, without them changing their preferred style. That's called hypocrisy in many places. If you want people who like to play the game the intended way to resign just so you can get a jump on your extra storage or other goodies, well, tough. I'm not changing for people who want to exploit a flaw in the code, when they refuse to see eye-to-eye with me, and even report me for playing how I like.
- There are many rules that are not enforced. There are serious violations that are dealt with serious consequences. This bug hardly qualifies as anything serious. Why? Because it's still one day out of however long FA is available. There are an enormous amount of minor violations going on every day, and most of it is ignored by the authorities.
- You fail to see it from both perspectives. If I was serious about playing FA and such, and this bug disrupted my play, I'd would play something else, since it's inevitable the bug will be fixed and will be restored to normal. There is no loss on your part unless you make it your loss. If you let them play as they like for one day, they'll let you play the regular way the remaining time. The consequence of not doing so is obvious: the resign-spike fails, so they half-ass their play until the match is over. No matter what happens during the match, the gameplay is not normal. But, the abnormality would only last one day (in fact not even a whole day since a.net fixed it partway through the day).
- All you need to realize that you too were part of the aggravation during that day. You'd also might like to know, there were probably more people mad at you than people mad at the bug. --8765 01:20, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, so according to you, a bug that gives people credit where they don't deserve it shouldn't be fixed. Great logic, you are so amazing!Pika Fan 04:02, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- I never once said I was mad at the bug; I work in the software industry, bugs happen. I'm mad at the people like you who exploited it, breaking the rules of the game (minor or not, it's still match manipulation), and even abusing the reporting system when people refused to resign.
- You claim I'm not looking at it from the perspective of the grinders; I am, I just fail to see how the situation's asymmetric. Both sides are trying to get the other side to play their way. Let me turn your own argument around; if me not resigning prevented you from exploiting your way to an equipment pack/everlasting firework crate/etc. that one day, why don't you go play something else? For example, there were bounty and mission quests you could do on every or several other character slot. The only difference between the two sides of this argument being, the grinders who wanted to resign were breaking the agreement they made when they started playing the game, through match manipulation and abuse of the report feature. Whether or not the breach of conduct was serious or not, it was a breach of conduct. Or are you saying that minor crimes like theft should just be ignored because more serious crimes such as murder take place all the time? That's what your argument resolves down to.198.37.19.137 20:30, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

possible trivia?[edit]
Anyone else think that a trivia note should be added? The bug was a rather big one, gaining infamy in the matter of hours after all.Weaponmaster 03:52, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
