Well... they just said a big *http://wiki.guildwars.com/skins/common/images/button_sig.png Your signature with timestamp*** you to any sort of UW farming or any sort of Assassin soloing.

The SF change hurts eles more than sins. Cant do a lot of Shadow/Sliver farming now cuz you cant do enough damage in the time Sliver lasts.~Falcon67.181.164.73 22:08, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Noooo they nerfes shadow form it cannot be trueeee. :( --Super IgorUser:Super Igor 22:10, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
And up goes ecto prices. Its offical. Anet has destroyed all A/E farms. Dang you Anet. Now your just doing that because your so... UGH!
I am not surprised that they nerfed Shadow Form due to the Ecto fall and all, which I am happy about... but I am a little surprised that they actually went and totally changed the skill! I can believe that they would lowered the duration back to what it was before... but out right change to 50%? That was a little too much... although, it does bring up the question if it stacks with Dark Escape? SabreWolf 00:30, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't follow. Why would SF (enchant) need to stack with Dark Escape(stance)? They're two different skill types with very different effects. Ii'm probably just dumb. Pretensciousboy 02:44, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I think they choose the wrong way to nerf it. Nerfing it like this removes ALL sin farming techniques, not just the UW ones. There had to be a better way to fix it than trashing Sin farming all together.--The Gates Assassin 04:09, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

The way it looks to me is simply that one probably needs double the time to farm with SF. Although 50% decrease in damage is a bit harsh.152.226.6.203 04:51, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Same things were said about the Spirit Bond nerf back when the 600s ruled. Anything that's invincible and can kill things with ease is going to get nerfed. It's just how it goes. Cedave 05:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Gaile said they would not nerf raptor farming, 1st was Flame Djinn's then this well guess what... this is an enormous steaming pile of donkey dung (and every other cuss word in the book that I can't put here but I'm sure you all know them) revert this skill back to less duration and drop this 50% bs. This has really pissed alot of people off because nerfing SF in this way destroys A/E and E/A farming. Skekzyz 08:16, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

I think we are all arein agreence that we all do not mind the skill getting changed... but we all would have like to see a revert of the duration, and not and out right change... However all, if you look into the skill set further, you can still farm and all, just need to tweak the build a bit to play with the 50%... although, I myself would not care to do that much finger mashing, and prefer the lowered duration and recharge. As for the comment about Dark Escape, I was thinking about the premace of 50% redux of both skills combining and stacking... which would give you a 25% redux of damage I believe, IF it does stack. To make something very clear here because the topic has already been touched on in this discussion:
Ecto prices ONLY went up because people found out about the change hours before it came about.
This made people go to the trader and buy ectos. Their thought was that they could make money on the cheap ectos when the price went up.
Funny thing is, by them buying ectos from the trader, they actually drove the price up themselves.
Trader's stock piles went down, and his prices went up. So more people bought, thinking that it would go higher.
The highest I saw it at was 5.5. I expect it to fall again back to it's low before the update and stabilize, although slowly.

So please don't say that the SF nerf caused ecto prices to go up when in reality, it was the player base that did it by buying from the trader. ~~

Maybe you guys didnt see it, but the mindblades also have Signet of Disenchant now, so there realy is no way to farm with SF in UW now.

yes there is... bring a cover enchantment... unless you meet more then one of them... then you of issues...

tonic[edit]

I like cookies too.

Anyway, when is the new tonic gonna be here? They have one on first day of every month. Have they not made it yet?

This has to be said.[edit]

The "balance" team is a bunch of idiots. And I'm not kidding, and I'm not just whining because they "nerfed one of my skills".

When you fix something, anything, you are only supposed to change one variable at a time. Ever, in any sort of experiment. This is basic problem solving. Now, although I don't agree with them, the Shadow Step nerfs this time seem to follow this pattern. Although it's just beating a dead horse and I really don't see what's so bad about a little jumping every 20 to 30 seconds. So what? QQ they shadow spiked me in GvG? Maybe I should get some monks that know what Infuse Health, Protective Spirit and Spirit Bond are.

Signet of Judgement could have it's damage decreased. It could also be half ranged. But it shouldn't be both. Same with Enfeebling Blood, a larger health sacrifice should make up for the original duration, not a new one.

This is basic stuff, any sort of problem solving course would tell you this on day one. =\ Why do these people still have jobs? They really shouldn't...do they even look at this? They should, they still left Lightning Touch in it's horrible nerfed state. 72.81.247.139 01:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

I honestly agree with you here. I'm still bewildered at how these people have their jobs myself...and I'm a little surprised at the lack of community involvement anet has presented us with. It seems that our voices aren't being heard and lots of the useless updates need to be explained to the public. And it seems to me that the game is lacking behind in terms of changing skills...etc. When you question them, all they can say is "Sorry working on guild wars 2." I think Anet either needs to split the skill balancing team so that both games are being focused on or hire a selected few to continue guild wars because right now, it's going downhill, both pve and pvp.--Lancy1214 20:14, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh yes very accurate, GW revolves around GvG. Last I checked, there were still AB RA TA etc.
The question has to be asked, what can the shadow step skills be used for now? With an aftercast, even though it's 0.75 seconds, it's still long enough for someone to start kiting, which negates the use of the jump in the first place. As an assassin, you jump to target, you stand there for almost a second, the monk or whatever has already started running, so you have to run after them to attack them. It doesn't seem to make any sense. --86.155.232.218 02:22, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
The Wounding Strike build got Mesmers nerfed, got Signet of Judgment nerfed, and now got Chilling Victory and Signet of Mystic Speed nerfed, and I'm assuming it's because of GvG. Since there was that SnH signet mesmer that would use SnH on warriors, then WS got buffed (Still don't know WHY) and they used that instead. Since covered Deep Wound every 3 seconds is too powerful they're nerfing everything around Wounding Strike. =\
You hit the nail right on the head. Updates like this are the reason I only log to check birthday gifts anymore. --SoraMitsukai 17:27, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

And that's the point with the Shadow Step nerfs. You aren't supposed to be able to do anything, even on Shadow Prison the aftercast gives the target enough time to either A)Walk away or B)Kick your ass. There is no point to bringing any Shadow Step except Shadow Fang as that was convientently missed when they buffed Shadow Step recharges and when they added stupid aftercast. 72.81.247.139 19:02, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure if I agree with what has been done with the skill balancing, or not. What I do know, however, is that drastic nerfs or changes in skills inspire people to have to find creative ways around those changes. Since there are always questionably imba builds that seem to get copied over and over again, I think a little forced creativity is good for all of us.--Light of Homsar 19:26, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Did Beguiling Haze get the aftercast delay too and not get noted? Tried using and seemed like it had it.~Falcon71.198.125.174 20:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Bhaze already had aftercast before the nerfs.--The Gates Assassin 05:40, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
You know Light of Homsar, Wounding Strike was a very creative skill before it got buffed. You could do a lot of things with it, without being over powered, because your DeepWound was usually easily removed in balanced games (excluding RA, AB and the like). Now you use it and it's a kill button almost everywhere. =\ I don't see how making something creative into an uncreative kill button is forcing people to be more "creative". The same with Mantra of Inscriptions, it allowed people to use signets in the mesmer line that were usually ignored due to their long recharges and inability to be affected by 40/40s. NOW, it can't even do that because of a Monk Elite. Can you explain how you make creativity out of that? Your logic is as bad as the updates. 72.81.247.139 09:46, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
I wasn't really looking to pick a fight. I said I don't necessarily agree or disagree with how the changes were made and what they did to the skills. I basically was just trying to say that I enjoy seeing people come up with new, creative builds and that one positive outcome to killing a skill is that it forces people to come up with something new.Light of Homsar 20:41, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Having to pick up the pieces to continue to use my favorite characters and professions is not enjoyable at all. Especially when they leave broken attributes and skills the way they are. And it isn't creative when you don't have any other options. RitualDoll 18:44, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
