good snare. please don't nerf

Is it? I'll have to try it.Miss Innocent 09:45, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Crippling Sweep... Noctarch 01:18, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Who said use it with a scythe? Works better with Spears and Bows, easy application for certain dagger attacks and could be used with other attack skills too. This is like Ebon Dust Aura in that it's useful on Dervishes, but more useful on other professions, or at least with their skills. 72.81.247.139 04:54, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
True. On my ranger, my dervish heroes use bows because thats the weapon I have readily available. Using this with a cold bow is an excellent snare. Combine with Volley if you want, but I find rapid fire also works very nicely.FleshAndFaith 17:39, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
I can't tell if this is better or worse than harriers grasp.139.62.223.192 17:10, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
IMO the only thing that harriers has a 1up on this is the fact it's 1. non-elite and 2. doesn't need a cold weapon, the cold wep isn't too bad anyway was that Grenth's Fingers would do the trick and pump Mystic Sweep leaving room for a zealous or vamp mod...or whatever else suits your fancy. Weaponmaster 06:17, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

imo this is the worst dervish elites. only thing id ever use it with is volley or some quick spear attack as mentioned. but even then..harriers does a better job for me. doesnt need to be attack skills, isnt elite and doesnt need cold damage. --Celtus 02:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Harrier's grasp has higher cost, recharge, lower duration, and only cripples against running foes. Useful, yes, but imo this outclasses it by far. A dervish using grenth's grasp followed by reap impurities alone has high survivability. ~ Chao 22:34, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
The main issue is that you're eating up your elite to get constant melee-range cripple as well as locking your damagetype. You could take a leaf out of EDA's book and use this with an icy spear, but really then, you may as well take a cripshot ranger instead. Vili User talk:Vili 22:37, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Soulbreaker. 'Nuff said. Paddymew 16:33, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, but this would probably be my elite of choice if Wounding Strike weren't required for any dervish entering PvP. You can beat the crap out of whatever you want and they can't kite you because derv attack skills have no recharge? Count me in!
I love it because it's a perfect Dervish enchantment: great uptime (small recharge, decent duration), quick activation, and worthwhile effect - this is what the non-elite dervish enchants (like Grenth's Fingers, Aura of Thorns, and all those other "beginning/end effect" enchants) should be modeled after; most of them either have a debilitating cast time (1s is WAY too long for frontline), useless effect ("For 20 seconds, this enchantment does nothing" is not fun or useful), or terrible uptime (Herrier's Grasp is sexy... at 13 wind prayers). If an enchantment doesn't meet all 3 criteria, it's simply not going to work.
If 90% of Scythe Mastery didn't blow ass (hell, if even ONE skill gave a good nonelite DW and didn't also consume your elite skill slot), I think we'd be seeing a lot of this. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 21:18, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

I just capped this today, and, at the same time, I had Avatar of Grenth on me. So I thought I'd try them together. Funnily enough, it doesn't work. No cripple at all. Condition doesn't even show up on their bar.

So... anyone know what's going on here? 118.208.125.214 00:12, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Hurr. Attack skills only. Works fine. 118.208.125.214 00:12, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

When is it applied?[edit]

Is the criplle applied before or after the skill, would it trigger something like reap impurities?

Before. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 15:57, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Spear attack bug[edit]

Very minor, but "Spear of Lightning" does not trigger the cripple condition upon hitting the target.

Spear of lightning makes the attack deal lightning damage, rather than cold. Hence, it doesn't cause cripple with this skill. Lord of all tyria 22:15, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Wearying Spear[edit]

anyone know what happens when Wearying Spear is used? Is the weakness transfered immediately? 82.69.80.164 16:36, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

No, it's transferred when your next attack skill hits. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 22:03, 21 Feb 2011 (UTC)
