Does he only teach presearing skills? And this is probably irrelevant, but his name looks very similar to how Hoelbrak is pronounced in the norn videos. Sorry about formatting; posting from my phone.

Overall Purpose[edit]

Not to make it sound like you should go out and adventure, but exactly what is his purpose? Pre-Searing has such a small limited set of skills at hand and they're all easy as hell to get, so what was the point in adding him? - 24.0.186.60 00:46, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

there were some skills that you could only get if you were a primary of that profession, this enables you to use all the skills. that you couldn't get if you decide to use a secondary.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:57, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Also, people could get the skills via trader, and reserve those skill quests for leveling for LDoA. This is pretty useful. 72.70.225.18 12:32, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I just wish they added a few basic ones for this skill trader. 205.250.71.230 15:35, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
That would be cool if they added 1 or 2 simple skills per profession. Mesmers could use some emanagement so they aren't forced into /E, warriors have their skills spread really thin, and eles are just lacking variety. --68.55.65.212 02:40, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
yeah Energy Management wouldn't go amiss and PLEASE maybe like.. 5 basic skills it wouldn't be gamebreaking if you've taken the time to get to level 10 in Pre you deserve to get a reward of a few more skills to choose from :/ Zachariah Zuan. 21:54, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

So the only point of this npc is to open up access to 4 skills that are already there for secondaries? Honestly, how many people asked for THIS npc? Out of all the requests for pre-searing, this is the one they chose? I suppose every bundle of good changes needs one to confuse people. Guildwarsrunner 03:40, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

so far on my Monk Mes, he had 1 move I hadn't learned.. Empathy.. i'm sorry what? 1 extra skill? come on Anet add a few more skills, maybe some condition removal or more weapon skills for Warriors some energy management. Zachariah Zuan. 19:54, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

To me this NPC is near useless. I think it would be much more usefull if: 1) You can learn the skills without taking the 2nd profession permanently ( effectively making it possible to change 2nd profession in pre without unlocking it for post-searing ). and 2) Have a 1 time quest that can strip away your 2nd profession ( taking away the ability to goto the academy / so you have to be able to either redo the 2nd profession quest or have another way to fix this ). Just another dream scenario for me. Silencio 06:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

  • All of the skills provided by this NPC are already, I believe, available if the player takes the time to talk to ALL of the 'trainers' in pre-searing for both of their character's professions. A guide already given at List of pre-Searing trainers. 69.182.175.212 07:01, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
I agree that certain professions can use some more basic skills. Like for warrior and ele, so they can pick out of all their attributes and have a full skillbar(ele: earth, water, air, fire, Warrior: hammer, sword, axe). Rumian 15:47, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Name sounds like Norn major city "Hoelbrak".[edit]

Since this and lots of information about the Norn has been released around the same time, I am guessing this name was derived from the Norn major city of "Hoelbrak". Anyone else see the resemblance? --Next Top Runner 20:39, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, the guy at the top does. 216.185.250.92 23:54, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Halbrik is a pretty common name in fantasy. I wouldn't look further than the obvious for this one.109.131.94.7 15:29, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Resurrection Signet[edit]

Any reason why he doesn't have Resurrection Signet? It's available in Pre-searing via quest, however I'm personally saving that quest for LDoA. Having it via the skill trainer, though, would allow me to help out friends in Pre-Searing without having to be very careful about them not dying. 98.156.77.144 19:34, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Mebbe because it is not a profession related skill? 69.177.225.202 22:22, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
