Trivia[edit]

Should it be added that the word halvdan means in swedish (sort off) half-good (halv-half). Since many other of the norn names are someway related to Nordish words there is a slight possibility. --Mlw640User Skallen640 Skull.png 12:49, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

No .. because the name means half Danish in old Norse. --Manassas User Manassas Mannysig.png 13:23, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the short reply, phone rang. Halvdan (or more common Halfdan) is an old Norse boys name originally used when only one of the parents was Danish. In 2008 there were 276 people named Halfdan and 3 named Halvdan in Denmark. If you ask me, we shouldn't mention it in the article, as we usually don't bother about the origin of NPC names. (We don't explain the origin of the name Gwen etc.)--Manassas User Manassas Mannysig.png 13:36, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
thanks for the info! --Mlw640User Skallen640 Skull.png 13:42, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Halfdan of Old c 500 AD was the reputed Anglo Saxon ancestor of the British "royal" family although his existence is of course disputed and available only in oral history. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.189.136.107 (talk) at 18:11, 9 July 2018 (UTC).
