Talk:Irontoe's Chest

I suggest an addition:

If Kilroy Stonekin does not get knocked out, Irontoes's Chest will drop an Aged Dwarven Ale. Otherwise, it will drop a Dwarven Ale.

This has been my observation and needs confirmation.

That's not how chests work. It would be incredibly difficult to force certain chest drops based on NPC behavior. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 20:08, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
He gets knocked out all the time with me and I still get Aged ales, so I'd say that's not likely. 193.215.199.34 14:19, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Could it be to do with how many times you get knocked out? I seem to have more luck getting them when I dont get knocked down. Jimmelad 13:33, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

It's the same as all chests. It's based off drop ratio's. They are higher depending on the mode (Normal and High), something like 20% chance of aged in Normal, 40% in hard mode. I get roughly 1 aged dwarven ale every 6 runs in normal, I've gotten Aged on 2/3 Hard Mode runs.

I know it's an easy chest to get to but...honestly, I feel like the rewards are pitiful, they can't even offer a rare weapon once in a blue moon or like 200-400g cash? I enjoy my spoils more from the run itself than the chest

Drop Rates[edit]

Drop Rates in NM appear to be approximately 20% Aged ales and 80% Normal Ales based on my sample of 260 runs:
