Possible name origin

Anne McCaffery's Sci-fi/fantasy series Dragonriders of Pern features an island called Ista as one of it's locations. Is it possible the two are connected? Either directly (one named after the other) or indirectly, maybe both being derived from a word for island? 86.166.128.214 09:44, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
