Talk:List of Nightfall missions and primary quests

Will the names of the pages for missions be like Pogahn Passage or like Pogahn Passage (Mission)? I ask since I uploaded "my" maps for Pogahn Passage and Sunjiang District myself to avoid "gna, gna, can't copy" license issues. T.T.H. 14:36, 8 February 2007 (PST)

Please add " (Mission)" after each MissionName - the named links also exists as outposts! BigBlue 15:16, 8 February 2007 (PST)

copyvio tag[edit]

I'm tagging these for further investigation before I head to bed - if anyone knows for sure that they're fully copyright-safe, please do go ahead and remove the tag. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 04:15, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't see a copyvio right now. And I know for sure that Dirigibile won't do that (as he has done the biggest addition to this article so far). To me a "→" is not a sign for a copyvio. BigBlueMonk 20.pngtalk 08:41, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi even though I think copyright laws are stupid and should be banished from the face of the planet why not just re word the missions a little or change a few words making it so called unique again and not under copyright?

Lots of people use wiki for guild wars an to delte stuff because its copied from some other place is plain silly.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:81.151.190.56 .

Changing a few words does not a copyright violation undo. Paraphrasing a copyrighted source is generally still against the terms of the copyright. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 11:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
There is no need for anything. The mission names are from the game so you can't rename them. And no sentence is duplicated from Guild Wiki, I checked myself. Just the same layout is not a proof of copyvio (to follow this argument every template here has to be rewritten, because of layout similarities!) BigBlueMonk 20.pngtalk 10:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm not saying anything is "proved". The issue is whether the page in question was, at any point, copied directly from another copyrighted source, even if pieces of it have been altered. It's not simply layout similarities - paraphrasing from another article can constitute plagiarism as well. Consider the note: "***The storyline divides in two paths here, depending on whether you choose Master of Whispers or Margrid the Sly. These quests are mutually exclusive, so you can only do one of them." (local) versus " ***The storyline forks at this point. You must choose to follow either Master of Whispers or Margrid the Sly; you cannot follow both." (GuildWiki). It's a number of almost direct correlations that makes me question the origins of content on thiis page. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 11:48, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
It's a fact, that this storyline forks at this point - and I don't have much ideas to describe this with other words. It's possible that this person read the GuildWiki article long before posting here and kept this in his mind. As you see here in this wiki all good ideas of GuildWiki were transferred in some way to create templates, articles, categories and structure here (=plagiarism!!). Do all of this need a copyvio tag here? Perhaps I'm to liberal for this, but I see it as folows: It's not a direct copy of the sentence, same structure of a sentence is - for me - not an evidence. I checked the version history, this article wasn't added in one big addition. It grown to slowly for a copyright violation. EDIT: Thanks to Kurd removing this copyvio. We should do this with all other "List of CAMPAINGNAME (missions)" BigBlueMonk 20.pngtalk 12:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
As I had mentioned in my initial comment on this page - Kurd's note was what I was looking for, simply someone actually doing the checking to verify that it isn't a copyright violation. The copyvio tag simply states that the page is a potential violation, not that it certainly is - as long as someone verifies that it's not, it's fine to remove it. Forking of Missions[edit]

I tried the other night to have a group of people where some of us selected Magrid & some of us selected Master of Whispers. However when we tried to run the Rilohn mission, it said something like "Joe is not part of the plan" where Joe is a character who selected Magrid (the first such character in the list to be more specific). So the comment that you can just join another group seems either wrong, or missing a qualifier. Thoughts? Ooom 22:17, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I believe you still have to do the 2 quests to get margrid as a hero before you can do Rilohn. --Valshia 22:48, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
That would explain it. Haven't tried that though :) Ooom 00:17, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Sunspear and Lightbringer reward[edit]

I put it here, becaus I don't know a better place :)

The Nightfall missions now give Sunspear or Lightbringer points as a reward. This is added under the Notes section in the mission pages. I think it should be stated in the Mission Information / Reward section, becaus it is clearly a reward. My question is: Is there a reason to put it only in the Notes section or can this information be moved to the Reward section? Balwin 17:38, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Suggested note:[edit]

Completion of the above missions in Hard Mode will yield 2,190 Sunspear Title points and 2,025 Lightbringer title points. --SetandSpike 17:02, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
