Somebody screwed up with "There's not enough time!" But the table seems to be stored on the wiki somewhere and I don't know where to edit it. -MaskeusUser Maskeus sig.jpeg 21:48, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Poke poke and see if he'll fix it. I've mentioned it. Backsword 22:41, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Edit history fails to load[edit]

Now this is weird... For some reason I can't load the revision history for this page. All other pages histories work perfectly, as well as this page itself. Gives me a "502 server error" and says "There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server." Jeree95 (talk) 14:26, 29 June 2016 (UTC)

Right now the page itself is too demanding and hangs, so it needs to be culled. Which portion is draining it, I'm not sure. I was able to get to the History eventually, but it also caused a problem (no idea what would cause that). G R E E N E R 16:02, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) :Just tried it and I can pull up the history of the page (and the talk page too, because I'm dumb but figured out my mistake). Try it again and see if it was just a temporary hiccup. --Rainith (talk) 16:04, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
I've been having the same issue which made editing this list a painful; I'm gonna go ahead and delete bottom redundant section.
Didn't solve problem; any ideas? --Falconeye (talk) 03:02, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
The issue of when the server decides to update a page is a step far deeper into the wiki than I've ever been. It may be the case that transcluding them from subpages may help, but that's only a guess. G R E E N E R 05:50, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
I transcluded the transclusion; no improvement. Somethings going on that were ignorant about. Who is in charge of wiki maintanance? Someone from anet or community? Should I notify Kimmes? If nothing else, were learning what we can and cannot do with the wiki. --Falconeye (talk) 07:43, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Huh, everything seems to be working fine for me now. Are you getting the errors only when trying to save an edit?
Going to call it for this project. Looks like there are some fundamental limitations for dpl.
Do not use DPL for
  • Functions using "randomcount" - they can't be cached
  • DPL in templates that are used site-wide - creates hidden DPL calls all over the wikia
  • Large queries - don't display 500 results if 20 will do the job
  • More than one or two queries per page
The more we know. G R E E N E R 08:53, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Just to clarify, I can get the list of different edits by different users to load. What I can't load is the pages which show the difference between the current and a previous edit. I just tried again just now, and I can load said "difference page" for the very last edit the Falconeye did, that removed 2,8k bytes of data from the page. Any "difference history page" from before that is out of my reach. So I guess it had something to do with the removed content, either the sheer size of the removed portion or something about the wiki code that my connection/browser couldn't handle. Jeree95 (talk) 13:57, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
So creating multiples of "baby lists" instead of a "single gigantic list" is a bad thing? --Falconeye (talk) 16:38, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Jeree, the problem you're facing is that the wiki has to run all the dpl queries each time you want to look at a specific set of different edits. These queries take it a long time to process, and it can hang while doing so. The wiki only saves the most recent version to its memory to show to visitors, and refreshes them from time to time (once a day upon a visit? I'm not sure).
FE, I think both are painful, but my uneducated guess is that trying to do all those queries before loading a page for a visitor is damn hard to do. I think this beast of a page is going to just be a beast in the end, and I don't know the best way to take it down. G R E E N E R 17:36, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
