moar[edit]

As I was unfortunately unable to attend the event, I don't have information on things such as when Gaile and the Mursaat arrived, when the fireworks were activated, how many districts were filled up, when it ended and the like. If anyone knows anything about it that isn't in the article, could they please add it? --Santax (talk · contribs) 13:07, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Timelines[edit]

This is Quintus. I think the best we may be able to do is estimate when things happened. Because the thread in the Lore Forum was lost, along with all its data when GWO had a server problem, the best I can give you is perhaps a timestamp from screenshots.

Beginning: 5PM GMT

First Speech by Quintus: 5:07 PM GMT

Gaile Shows up: 6:00 PM GMT

Second Speech by Quintus: 6:10 PM GMT

Mursaat Invade: 6:15 PM GMT (in the middle of second speech)

Fireworks: Once Mursaat killed everyone so about 6:30ish PM GMT

There were four districts in Maguuma Stade by now. The Mursaat went to each one, and killed everyone, before moving to the next one. They stayed all day and all night in ID 4, and some people bodyblocked one.

Festivities at the Rally included two speeches, multiple rallying (cries of support, etc), dances, a improtu Gaile chat, classes seperating by class and cheering " 'Class (Ranger/etc)' for Mursaat!" People were also included to dress in gold and white, and Litanies of the Unseen as well as Mursaat Tokens and Mantle Badges were distributed (along with booze, food, and candy of course!)

I have high resolution screencaptures of all events, just tell me if you want them and I'll post links here to imageshack or whatever since I'm not wiki savvy enough to upload things by myself. It is obvious those images were screencapped from my slideshow review, so I can provide better ones if you need them.

Also, Gaile was invited personally by me. Anet obviously knew about the event from the thread, but I personally invited Gaile, and she accepted. So I did know, to an extent, something was coming. It was in all stages a community initiated event, with massive developer support.

I also have copies of the major rally posters. The one currently issued is a picture of Mad King Thom holding a flyer. I have one with a wall in Lion's Arch plastered with the three major posters you might what to use for the main image as an example of the community distributing flyers.

Perhaps it also bears mention that this is the first time the Mursaat have ever been seen in the Maguuma Jungle, and Maguuma Stade was chosen because of its proximity to both the Ullen River and the City of the Unseen on its banks, and the Tarnished Coast where at least a third of GW:EN is said to take place. Also, it had a stage and seating for the speeches.

One last thing, the Gaile Chat of the event and day is far from complete. I doubt anyone has the full log any more, now that the GWO thread is gone. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.20.73.17 .

Success?[edit]

Now that GW:EN has been released I don't think Mursaat appear aside from the summon spell. The white mantle have a decent role to play including a hero but did anyone else notice more? Dancing Gnome 12:59, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Justicar Naveed's quest line, for one. Found in the Alcazia Tangle, outside of the Tarnished Haven. (Spoilers) Implies the Mursaat will return for GW2, especially the individual Mursaat encountered, Lazarus the Dire. (End spoilers) --Valentein 13:08, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
I suspect we will see a few old names, but I doubt there will be many Mursaat in GW2 - The Flameseeker Prophecies foretold the end of the Mursaat at the hands of the Titans, however, a few survivors may appear (this has happened with the giants [titans?], the Margonites, and to an extent the Forgotten). --Falseprophet 20:24, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Tracts[edit]

Who & how did they make the in-game flyers that are on the first screenshot ??! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:86.71.116.68 (talk).

Photoshop? -- Gordon Ecker 02:46, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
I think it probably was the use of photoshop, though I may be mistaken. Gmr Leon 23:22, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Idea for another, we could use TextMod --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:172.206.50.245 (talk).
Texmod would have been easier realistically. Did they have another one this year? I'd forgotten about it completely myself. Cedave 04:57, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
No. Texmod can't alter models, and requires an image editing program to alter the textures. In this image, the angles of the posters are inconsistant with TexMod, and the easiest way to create this image would be to edit a Direct3D dump to insert the posters. -- Gordon Ecker 07:20, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
