What is a negation effect?[edit]
There are only a few skills that use the term, negation effect in their descriptions (concise or otherwise). I believe that ANet reserves the term for descriptions of skills that prevent fatal damage. However, there are other skills that have an effect on damage prevention; that could also be thought of as a negation effect. So, do we stick with the strict jargon that ANet has used? Or a more inclusive definition? Other similar concepts would be damage reversal + reversal effect, damage reduction + reduction effect, and so on.
I'm inclined that we restrict negation effect to the strict definition: only effects that occur when fatal damage is prevented. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:57, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
- Im leaning towards fatal damage; however the "Intervention" and "Reversal" type skills (and others) effectively mimic the "negation of non-fatal/lethal damage"; they could be divided into two distinct groups. What are chances of Anet introducing new "negation-like" effects/mechanics through future skill updates? --Falconeye 23:05, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
