Real-life sword classification

Although not exactly a stretch, the Norn Sword heavily resembles late Nordic designs; though, it certainly has a closer link to a medieval sword (Oakshotte type XXI) than it does a nordic one. A combination of both, it really makes sense in the context of Guild Wars if you think about it -- it does take place in the Tyrian medieval age, and Ascalonians are beginning to travel through the North, which could be how the Norn Sword reached the design that we see in Guild Wars.
