Talk:Physical damage
Besides splinter weapon, some traps, and some PvE skills, are there any other skills that do physical damage? Should we form a list and put it on this page? Necromas 20:45, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

- Attack skills only do physical damage if the weapon the character is wielding doesn't have an elemental weapon mod (Ebon, Fiery, etc.) or isn't affected by a skill that alters attack damage (Dust Cloak, Judge's Insight, etc.), in which case they would deal elemental damage or holy damage, so technically attack skills don't deal physical damage. --Silver Edge 21:46, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

Shouldn't Runes of Absorption be mentioned on this page? They reduce physical damage by 1/2/3... --58.7.129.156 15:13, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Veil of Thorns is piercing. Also, various shield mods. Would do it myself, but I'm on phone. --87.95.4.178 12:24, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- Veil of Thorns is already listed at Piercing damage. --Silver Edge 20:00, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
The statement about armor-ignoring damage from Splinter Weapon is very misleading. It sounds like any armor-ignoring damage would count as physical damage to skills like Mark of Pain which is wrong, e. g. damage from Spirits does not count. A better formulation would be: Armor-ignoring damage from certain skills (i. e. Splinter Weapon, are there more?) which is triggered by a martial weapon attack also counts as physical damage so that skills like Mark of Pain benefit from it.
