I'd have though Proof of Winds would be Cantha as in Winds of Change. Ramei Arashi 08:16, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Cantha was all about the Jade Wind, which is a strong argument for them getting Proof of Wind. Winds of Change was an appropriate name partially because of that, but mostly because it's a common phrase even outside the game. However, I'd argue that more people relate Cantha to the Jade Sea than the Day of the Jade Wind, so it makes sense for Cantha to be Proof of Waves (even if it's not a perfect fit).
EotN has major dibs on the earth element (since Proof of Snow would be silly), which leaves fire and wind for Elona and Tyria. Remembering (as is sometimes hard to do) that Tyria was all about the Flameseeker Prophesies, it makes sense for Proof of Flames to be for Tyria. Wind is a great fit for Elona, too, since the desert wind is as deadly as the desert sun.
The major thing to remember about the naming scheme is that you have to give up perfect fits for one or two continents in favor of an overall strong theme. If Cantha were Proof of Winds, Elona would have to be Proof of Water, which makes no sense. Alternatively, Elona could be Proof of Flames (which fits with the desert thing) and Tyria could be Proof of That Bay No One Remembers. (Shipwreck Bay or something? It was in the manuscripts, I think.) 50.136.229.5 22:12, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
