Be cautious about getting over-run by ministry and phantasms. -- 76.181.167.16 07:39, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Also let's have this be a repeatable battle, even if it's just for exp and gold. -- 76.181.167.16 07:50, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Fuck sake, tough to get all the way to this quest. Gonna' have to work my ass off just to get this hero. 96.240.197.103 01:13, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Difficulty[edit]

This was ridiculous easy for a HM quest a bit dissappointed in the final quest.--Kilaa1000 10:34, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I had to try the siege on kaineng 2 times, because I was just stupid the first time, but other than that part 3 was fairly easy in HM. But this final fight took me quite a few tries and when I finally succeeded, it took me almost an hour (for some reason the bar didnt seem to drop for a while after I got zei ri to join me). So I don't find it that easy at all >< 84.193.94.163 16:41, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
The difficulty of this quest is similar to that of Augury Rock. The Grand Illusion makes copies of your party that fight for Reiko, so it can be harder or easier depending on your team build. -- 76.181.167.16 18:06, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that if you target the version of reiko that Miku is screaming her target at, it goes by quite quickly. (took me 7 minutes) User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 18:12, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
i dont know how u did it, but it seems impossible to me...--Dark Shadows Raider 20:47, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
nvm, got it 7 hero party pwnd it (no cons), with 5 humans = failure, 3 times even with consets, wtf --Dark Shadows Raider 21:03, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Full heroes party and it's ridiculously easy! heroes seems smart enough (for once :) to know what to target and what to do... only troublesome quest for me was "Finding Jinnai", can't figure out the pattern or logic in order to avoid mass aggro (it seems only driven by luck, sometimes it's no problem, sometimes it take ages before getting only a few groups at a time).DeoX 14:24, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps the clones were stealing powerful PvE skills from your allies, which they can use. User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpgChieftain Alex 14:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Anyone have any decent advice for this mission? I've tried taking builds that won't hurt me if cloned, tried a team of purely defensive heros, tried again with a conset, still no luck. Always get overwhelmed at the end, when there is maybe 1/20th of Reiko's bar left. Extremely frustrating to always come so close and always lose. Comments, suggestions, criticism, etc greatly appreciated... BladeArrowney 03:22, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps you could consider doing the Redemption for the Lost hard mode quest. (out of interest, did you kill Eri?) User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 11:52, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
I had a similar issue with getting overwhelmed towards the end. Until I tried this: Once you get Reiko's bar down 20% or so, around the time Xin Ji joins you, pull back to the other side of the river (the side you came from). Set your heroes along the waters line (try not to cross it), you will be close enough to aggro but just far enough away that you won't get overwhelmed (the spot is about an inch or so from the water, on the hilly slope). This way the heroes can deal with the incoming ministry foes and you can wait out the phantasms, plus the NPCs that will join the fight will be alive and able to support you especially the ranged ones. Miku, Xin Ji, and Soar Honorclaw will usually aggro Reiko no matter what so just keep tabs on who Miku is attacking and target her calls. I've used this strategy twice on HM, doesn't take longer than 8-11 mins to complete. No cons or anything. Hope this helps and goodluck! Coriander
Your basic strategy is right, but you can't mean "around the time Xin Ji joins you," because she is the very first ally to join you, and there's no way you could have the Grand Illusion bar down to 20% by that point.--98.114.178.63 23:32, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Note[edit]

Reiko clones and phantasms can be teleported with "swap", other foes including Reiko dont. Yseron - 109.213.28.172 16:42, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

That is a very interesting mechanic. Thanks for the tip. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:54, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Wiped, but still complete[edit]

As with a bunch of other quests, if your party wipes near the end of Reiko's pink bar, and your allies (Jade brotherhood, am fah, tengu, Initiate zei ri, miku etc) finish Reiko off, the quest will complete. User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpgChieftain Alex 14:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Since update[edit]

retard Melee Ally AI=Miku, Xen Ji, Soar=REATRDS who go in steal aggro and run back behind u, why ur still trying to get ur heroes energy back, and for some reason since update, Purity enemies spawn ver unsually(TESTED:if there are 2 Purity guys left, none will spawn, as soon as u kill1 and there is still 1 left, the next group spawn, making it harder to push back to reiko if u have to pull back for any reason and for some reason 6 times as many Phantasm's seem to be spawned...Was nothing like this before recent update on AI, i know becaus ei had beat it on my war and helped like 30 odd freinds beat it, please let us know if ur experiencing the same problems --124.180.44.14 00:16, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

I have the same issue, seems no matter what I do I always fail this mission at the very end, Reiko spawns more phantasm's and copies than seems possible and the party gets overwhelmed. BladeArrowney 03:23, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Hero AI update made it all worse. I think I could cope with being outnumbered by Ministry and Phantasms, if only the damn Heroes would stay with their flags and not spread over the whole map. Did it a while ago with only heroes, but now it's impossible.(86.103.211.119 01:54, 1 April 2012 (UTC))
I had a horrible time with this too and ended up finally getting through using the 7 Hero Player Support team build off of PVX. It felt like a cheap win, but at that point I didn't really care. I set all four flags in a square around me and just dropped Ebon Battle Standard of Courage from time to time and nailed it on my first try. ninestories 08:04, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Finally Done![edit]

I read the strategies and got it on the first try.

What I did was to target Reiko anytime I could and fight, especially later, with all my hero party on the other side of the river. When the numbers looked large, I flagged them away and went with them for a bit, then turned them back on the first enemy chasing. Killed down the numbers and retreated back over and over. The bar went down slowly. Just have a balanced party - what worked for me was Rit,Rit,Me,N,N,N,E. I flagged the Rit,Rit,Me spaced just a little apart with the rest of the party flagged just in front of them. I stayed just to the side of the party. I did almost all the fighting on the other side of the river.

Thanks to Chieftain Alex for the help through a couple of the quests I was stuck on!Baron Pierre Lestat 14:06, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

More info on the builds you used might be nice, just stating professions isn't helping. Besides, I tried everything my mind could think about viable strategies against this mission, but even with consets and tengu support flares, flagging heroes across the river, and anything else, but there's no way I can manage to stay alive when Reiko drops at about 1/3 of her total "health". Too many copies/phantasms and Purity mobs at the same time.
Edit: Finally made it after 35 minutes, quite a long time but no cons and only a Siege Turtle ally. I'll post the builds here, but before that, a simple rule: flag your ST Rit away behind the group and all other heroes just before the river. After Reiko drops under 50%, take time to move your heroes away from her for some time by 5 meters or so, so you're not getting interrupted en masse by all her copies.

Last member was a friend, splinter barrager. I suggest you take Pain Inverter and add a Divine Healing & Heaven's Delight protective monk with UA and Hex breaker if you're not one yourself, but he might just spam too much and be out of energy sometimes.

Hope it helps! 87.66.84.110 20:27, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Alex, modifying that build a little I was able to pretty much AFK's this in HM. But it takes about 3 hours that way.

  • Pin rit 1 about 5 meters in front of starting gate
  • pin rit 2 to the left about 5 meters in a V
  • pin mes 1 to the front about 10 meters in front of rit 1
  • pin rest of party to the right about 5 meters in a V
  • Diamond shape formation with mes at point, rit 2 on left, party on right, rit 1 in the rear, and you in the middle. All the heroes were close to the starting gate to avoid across the river agro.

Just STAY THERE and defend. I actually went AFK for dinner and got her down to the last 10% when I returned. THIS TAKES A WHILE doing it this way. Do a little poking when things get slow. ~Asya

ASYA THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN ! I FINALLY DID IT AFTER 10 TRIES ! NOT SURE U COMING BACK HERE TO SEE THIS POST, BUT THANK YOU MAN !

Miku not showing[edit]

Miku isn't showing for the HM version for me, Completed normal mode fine, went back out and she's not there. All other missions finished HM. glitch? 74.136.162.174

Quick Success[edit]

The following team setup allowed me to defeat Reiko in HM with a 7 Hero Team without any fall back tactics in about 7 minutes. I didn't use any cons/summoning stones or hero flags or micro any hero skills.

The key to success was running a spirit spammer build on my character, which kept me from being overrun at the end of the battle. It worked for me on a ranger, but I think it should probably work on any profession. For my heroes, I sticked to the skill recommendations from The Final Confrontation in NM.

Player:

R/Rt - OggjchgqITXTfTlT+gylQT0gMTA (Spirit Spammer on other professions)

Heroes (including Razah as a Mesmer):

Me/Rt - OQhkAgB8gGKUEQGwLACYeGJQczFD

Just cross the river with all heroes, meet Reiko at her starting location and fight her there for the whole battle. Try to keep your spirits up all the time, guard them with Armor of Unfeeling and draw them out of AoE damage with Summon Spirits. Use Spirit Siphon if you're low on energy. Follow Miku's target to identify the true Reiko, use Pain Inverter on her as often as possible and call her out for your heroes. Ignore the phantasms, but take out the Ministry members as soon as they appear. (If needed, use Summon Spirits to position your spirits in range of any new target.)--94.216.203.218 08:39, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
