Grenth's Balance - My other half aquired this skill from the boss at the end of the quest. 64.235.142.187 18:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Just ran into an interesting way to do this quest. So long as one party member has access to all of the towns, all members of the party can complete the quest. Have one person head to the towns and get the items, then meet back up to do the "Take back Nebo Village for Dwayna! Destroy the Grentches and Humbugs" part of the quest. Completing this part as a group completes the quest for everybody, regardless of whether the other party members had actually got the items required from the towns. 114.75.191.175 00:46, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I just did this (not get items and join someone) and it does complete. The same might be true for the other quest, A Very Grentchie Wintersday. -- Cat Slayer Calli User Cat Slayer Calli signature.png 05:11, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Other hints?[edit]

If I was to do this without relying on external information like from this wiki for example, how am I supposed to know where to obtain the quest items aside from these items being out there, somewhere. - Decollete 09:15, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

The first time any of us did this quest we had to rely on the community spirit, you would have several people looking throughout Tyria and whispering each other what they had found. I suppose Arena Net still expect the community to pull together, sadly it does not often happen and I'll admit after answering the same questions for the 100th time I just point people to wiki. Another thing I've just remembered, Old Nicholes gives hints for A Vert Grentchie Wintersday so I'd assume he'd do the same for this one, though I haven't tested it! Draco 20:06, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Blind Luck[edit]

Are we really just suppose to run from town to town looking for a piece of coal? With no direction????

Apparently, yes. I don't see any clues given by the NPCs that would lead you to Ascalon. Fortunately, only a few towns are decorated for Wintersday...and each only has a few festival-related NPCs. So you really only have to visit LA, AC, and Drok's...and only speak to probably 5 NPCs at each location. Who are spread out across a large zone... erm... ok, not trivial. In other words, I'm not sure that ANet has considered that some people might want to complete this without using the wiki. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:37, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
There is kind of a clue, albeit a very weak one: Joy states "soldiers from the Northern Wall, old friends, even ancient magicians". The other quest gave more clues, but also remained rather vague. 76.164.65.219 02:55, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

War In Kryta[edit]

War in Kryta foes continue to spawn, unlike with some other special event quests. Consider abandoning any related bounties. Lord Flynt (talk) 22:08, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
