Difficulty[edit]
Did this quest get harder. They kept spawning in groups of three, for what seemed like 30 minutes. Don't remember it being this hard. Tong2 23:27, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

I just took this quest after taking only Clearing Grenth's Monuments. The spirits went on for a while and then we died for no reason. Plenty of spirits left, reaper and mayor alive. - umm.. actually most (like 90%) of the friendly spirits are hostile. they just don't turn red until their previous group is killed. they only attack the "real" friendly spirits, and once they're dead you lose. it's kinda weird because they all have the same name, but there's REALLY few firendly spirits. i managed to keep only one alive each time so far. the rest are hostiles disguised as friendlies. and yes it takes 30min till they all turned hostile, depending on how fast you kill them. --83.78.188.215 22:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- We went trhough all the difficult quests first and after having started this one for a minute or two, our monk pretend he saw 2/3 spirits that were near the mill going straight for the reaper. So theres no way to stop the Spawn chain? I always complete this mission sucessfully, but it does not feel like a win with all the toons you were 'protecting' sprawled all around; I was wondering if maybe there was some time out, say if you kill all the hostiles in 10, 15, 20 sec; the condition doesn't communicate? just a thought? --69.255.123.188 03:44, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Re Tip and Escort of Souls[edit]
The tip on the main page suggests leaving The Grasping Darknesses near Mayor Alegheri until after clearing most of the Wrathful Spirits. Are these Darknesses likely to need clearing for the Escort of Souls quest, which it is separately recommended to take first? I also haven't figured out why it's a good idea to take that quest first. If Wrathful Spirits has been completed, why should there be any Tortured Spirits left to threaten the New Souls? Kirbett 13:54, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
No drop from chest?[edit]
So I completed this quest successfully, charmed the black widow, then opened the chest (I'm the only human with 7 heroes) and nothing dropped from the chest. My inventory was full but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it. Would it have been assigned to one of my heroes? AswedEMD (talk) 00:32, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
