As I have perused this wiki, making contributions here or there, I have noticed a common thread amongst many of the outspoken members of this wiki: in one way or another, you feel offended by Arena.Net. In fact, if I have linked you to this page, you are most likely causing a loud and distracting ruckus over some great injustice that Arena.Net has befallen upon you. Now, if you are the outspoken person you seem to be, then I am sure you have been given considerable attention over the duration of your terrible experience. In fact you draw in that attention as much as possible for the sole purpose of shedding light on the tyrannical actions of Arena.Net. To this extent, any explanation of these actions has mostly likely been explained to you in full, and any further explanations would be pointless. However, no matter the truth of your claims, no matter how horrific the injustice, there is one thing above all else that you must understand if you expect to get any sort of sympathy from the more intelligent player.
Arena.Net reserves the right to do whatever they want with Guild Wars, without needing a reason. They have full control over the game and all accounts tied to the game. They control all the skills of the game. They control all the chats of the game. They control your money, your characters, your titles, and all of your mini's. In fact, they have full control over your entire gaming experience. They reserve the right to give you items, money, characters, mini's, etc., and they reserve the right to take these away. Arena.Net is God in the realm of Guild Wars and there is simply no getting around that.
Whenever you "buy" your account, you are not buying the game "Guild Wars." Instead, Arena.Net is simply providing you with a portal to their world for a small fee. However, as with the rest of Guild Wars, you do not own this portal. Arena.Net reserves the right to maintain or remove your ability to access Guild Wars without needing a reason. Whenever, you "buy" Guild Wars, you are implicitly accepting this agreement, and cannot pursue any action against Arena.Net for exercising their power over Guild Wars.
Now comes the advice, for as with every good rant, there needs to be a reason. It does not matter if you do not like Arena.Net. It does not matter if you were unfairly treated in the world of Guild Wars. For in that world, you are nothing but a mere peasant when standing next to your true God. You will not be able to change this God's opinion. The God that is Arena.Net is unwavering and uncaring, and if you shout too loudly, the true God of Guild Wars will simply smite you. You can either agree to these terms, which were implied when you originally bought the game, or you can find another game to play. However, shouting out your distaste for a God, is not a good way to gain sympathy amongst those who still live under its thumb and abide by the rules.
If you are still angry with Arena.Net, and do not wish to play under their rule, I wish you a happy and fruitful experience, somewhere else.
