A spell from above is a spell that increases in effectiveness dependent on your relative Z-axis distance to your target. As can be surmised from the skill type's name, effectiveness increases when you are higher than your enemy than when you are below them. What aspect is improved upon following this criteria is discerned by being written in red text instead of the ordinary green text.

These spells are examples of the Z-axis implementation (which will be appearing in Guild Wars 2) being put to use, along with the possibility of jumping being included which would be an example of improving a spell from above.

As it is a spell, its behavior with other skills is exactly the same functionality as all other spells.
