Overview of Player's Musings

This section will be the one where I think about how my characters are faring, how my duties to the guild are proceeding and just random bits and pieces about the series itself. Any updates to my characters' progress, my work on the guild or my acquisition of the remaining games will be posted here, where I can go more in-depth.

Concerning the games...

Thanks to my guildmates, I'm two or three steps away from finishing Eye of the North with Miranda Belnades. In the meantime, I decided to make a pre-to-post runner for any other guildmates in pre-Searing who may need some trustworthy help shuttling things over. She's not getting a character page here, but her name is Tabitha Avalon and her primary will always be Ranger; really, she'll always look the exact same no matter how many times I recreate her. I also decided to prune the list of characters, as I wasn't playing them enough to warrant their existence. Desiree Labelle, Daisuke Mochizuki and Nasrin Nagi, may you find the peace in the Mists that I was unable to deliver in life.

Concerning Celia...

Celia's skills have undergone another overhaul, this one inspired by the skillbars of Koss and Jora on my characters. She may as well be a Warrior with no secondary profession, since absolutely none of her skills are Monk...not even the no-attribute kind. She's still going through changes, compounded by the fact I still need certain skills to experiment with. She finally has Healing Signet actually being used, but usually gets healed by a Monk Hero before she can fire it off.

Concerning Miranda...

Since the major Elementalist update, I've had to search for something that deals Cracked Armor and doesn't cost too much, or doesn't take too long to cast or recharge. I found a skill that's juuuust right. Allow me to say it again: LET'S HEAR IT FOR AIR MAGIC. LET'S HEAR IT FOR SHELL SHOCK. Next to nothing else has changed about Miranda, save for the fact she now has three different elite armor styles (Flameforged, Sunspear and Norn, with designs on Vabbian and Kurzick). Because of the sacrifices made by one of my deleted characters, her Norn Armor is now fully, properly kitted-out and ready for anything she might wish to pursue with it. I've also experimented with combining armor sets, and ever since she finally made it to Droknar's Forge, Miranda now has a bizarre set cobbled together from maximum-AR pieces of all four "forged" sets; I call this hodgepodge armor her "Prismforged" armor. It is kitted out the same way as her other sets, but still needs infusion.

Also, Miranda's finally ascended! And has ALL the infused armor! Her skill bar's been changed as well, focusing exclusively on Elementalist skills. And it works much better than the last one did~!

Concerning Sheral...

I felt that, if I were to be giving a Ritualist their chance to shine, I should extend the same chance to a Dervish. Like some of my other characters, Sheral needs a bit of work, the least of which is her level. Surprisingly, she doesn't need skillbar tweaking, or at least not very much of it. In-character, Sheral was actually born Krytan and emigrated later to Istan for reasons unknown. Her name is...well, it's odd to pronounce. The proper pronounciation, for those who care, is "Cheryl Goddess-son." Further inquiries are, err...discouraged. *looks around slyly*

Concerning Ohtori Academy...

Things seem to be going better than usual. In the past few months, I've actually recruited two people, managing to convince both of them to leave their former guilds! Whodathunkit, huh? (Status update: one of them left, due to lack of activity in the original Guild Wars. But we have another user to replace them!) Still completely, utterly useless at PvP, but at least I'm starting to prove I was a good choice as an officer.

As an officer of the guild, donations are still a big part of how I prove my worth. While I don't see much personal use for items like Honeycomb and the like - I'd rather slog my way through miles of hostile terrain with maximum Death Penalty than waste the goods - I can understand that my friends appreciate the items. Those items are typically donated to Ohtori Academy's most prominent individuals, with no tears shed for the passing. I mean, if they'll help a friend, and I won't ever use them anyway, why not give them to the people that could benefit the most?
