These are my Alternate Characters. I also have Main Characters.

Alternate Information

Most of these characters were initially created as mules. A lot of them, however, ended up being played more than I had initially planned. Whenever I have a friend who wants to play a specific area of the game, I like to use a character who can meet on similar goals rather than take a single character from a completely different area. With this in consideration, most of my characters are at different points across the different campaigns in Guild Wars. This way, I can be most flexible when joining someone in the gaming experience. I also find this to be extremely helpful in varying my gaming potential. For example, if I get bored taking one character thru Faction farming (in order to advance in Factions), I can hop on a character who is pushing thru Nightfall. At the same time, I can move on to a character who is Skill Hunting, or one who is collecting Heroes or one who is going thru GW:EN, etc...

I find that having these options not only aides in my flexibility for gaming with others, but also opens up options for entertaining myself.

Methodology

One of my favourite aspects of MMORPGs is character creation. I am the only person I know who will spend hours on end designing my character for a game; and even longer picking the 'perfect name.' As far as appearance goes, I try to create characters who I would imagine as the "main characters" in my Guild Wars story. I purchased quite a few character slots so that I could create as many of these ideal characters as possible. Of course, I like to imagine that I will some day reach all of my planned achievements for each individual character; but even if that doesn't ever happen, I'm satisfied simply by knowing that they exist for the chance that I do get to them.

For some reason, I have always found naming to be extremely important. I love the concept of name meanings and, especially, cultural significance. I have a great interest in culture and anthropological studies, so I take name creation to great consideration. Most of the names have cultural real-world significance and meaning and those that do not are at very least derivatives of such. Certainly, my adoption of root words is not always absolutely accurate, because I take the visual aesthetics of the word into consideration as well; but, for fantasy game purposes, I feel that this is of minor compromise.

I suppose it may be true to consider that each character's armour --as a requisite for completing ones 'look'-- is a leading goal for each character; as simple, and vain, as such a reason may be. On that note, I don't even want to consider finding the 'perfect weapon' for each individual yet!
