Back Story

Kurai was born in a Kournan Village near Arkjok Ward, but his parents both left shortly after he was born. He was raised by his older sister, Ukari. Since Ukari spent a lot of his time away from the village, Kurai was forced to fend for himself for the majority of his youth. When he was thirteen years old, Kurai's mother (born in Beetletun, in Kryta) and father returned home. The parents were thrilled to see how strong and independant their young son had grown up to be. However, Kurai accused them of abandoning him, but soon grew to accpet their affection. Four years later, when Kurai and his parents were on a hunting expedition on Marga Coast, his mother was captured by a fleet of corsairs. In confusion and anger, Kurai's father once again abandoned his son to search for his kidnapped wife. Kurai, sick of village life, also left to attempt to find his two parents. He gained passage to Istan and attempted to gain assistance from the Suspears, but was rallied into joining their cause.

His Profession

Kurai had an original dream to become an elementalist. But when reaping crops to feed him and his village, he discovered a great sense of power that comes from wielding a scythe, and he decided to follow the path of the Dervish instead.
