Back Story[edit]
Yuriko was born into a family of priests living in the center of Kaineng, living in a small, dilapidated temple of Dwayna. From this clerical upbringing and extreme poverty, Yuriko learned a great deal of discipline and devotion towards Dwayna, and often prayed to her for a ray of hope. When Yuriko was 16, she was sexually assaulted by Akane, but due to her life of purity, Akane was unable to spread corruption into Yuriko. However, she was left traumatized. When she informed her family that her celibacy was broken, they exiled her from the church, and ordered her to make the pilgramige to the Maguuma Jungle - this is usually an ordeal the senior members of the temple must undertake - as this was the only way to attain forgiveness. When she arrived, she heard word of the Afflicted attack in Cantha, and that her parents were among the victims. Now, aged 18, Yuriko hopes to kindle her families forgiveness by helping cleanse the world of the afflicted, and to finally put an end to Akane's corruption.
