ZoneTimer is a tool that runners can use to automatically and accurately time how fast they complete runs. Instead of dealing with the hassle and unreliability of a stopwatch, simply run this program while logged into a character and the program will do the rest.

Features In Progress[edit]

  • Add a minutes to hours conversion. For example, 74 minutes will now show as 1:14:00 instead of 74:00.
  • Add Eye of the North dungeons into the Explorable area database. Right now these outposts show up as "Unknown".

Features[edit]

  • Fully automated timer. The program knows if you are inside an outpost or in an explorable area and will only start the timer in explorable areas.
  • Party-wide announcements. Run information is gathered and announced to keep both you and your party members informed about the status of the run. As of version 1.1, the announcements can be toggled on and off.
  • Detailed data collection. The zones you travel through are automatically recorded and displayed on the user interface. The user interface is not overlayed in game. If you are running the game in fullscreen mode, the timer will not be visible (this is where the party-wide announcements come in handy!)

How To Use[edit]

  • Open Guild Wars, log into your account, and then log into a character.
  • Open ZoneTimer and confirm your character's name with the prompt that appears.
  • Do a run and the program will do the rest!

Hotkeys[edit]

  • Press F6 anytime to advertise the program.
  • Press F7 in the middle of a run to manually stop the timer. This is useful if you are using the timer to see how long it takes to get to specific points.
  • Press F8 to clear the run history (must be in an outpost).

Update History[edit]

  • Public Release 1.2 (November 20, 2016)
    • Updated GWA2 binaries so the program works with the current version of the game.
  • Public Release 1.1 (January 19, 2014)
    • Added the ability for the user to toggle party-wide announcments on and off.
  • Public Release 1.0 (January 3, 2014)
    • Initial release of ZoneTimer to the public.

Notes[edit]

  • If you die, you must rezone in order to reset the timer.
  • If you use F7 to manually stop the timer, you must rezone in order for the timer to become functional again.
  • Going back into the zone you were just occupying will make that run not count. For example if you are running in Lornar's Pass, die, resurrect and zone back into Beacon's Perch, the timer will not count that run. You can zone back into Lornar's Pass and attempt the run again without having to do anything to the timer.
