Hello, my name is Brandon (known as God Of Fissures in game) and I am a professional outpost runner. I am best known for discovering the technique to cross The Desolation entirely on foot and without assistance of a wurm or resurrection skills. I started playing Guild Wars in October 2005 and mostly play Pre-Searing these days on my axe warrior named Used Charr Salesman.
Personal Records[edit]
These tables are a compilation of all my personal running records that have been accurately timed and captured on video. Although I have been running for an extensive period of time, I never really bothered recording many of my runs until now. This list will continue to be populated as I record more videos. Although it cannot be proven, I am confident that many of my personal records are also world records.
The first column says which outpost/zone that I started from. The second column says which zone I ran through. The third column says which outpost/zone I arrived at. The time in the fourth column is the time it took to run. The link in the fifth column is video evidence of the time I claim in the fourth column. Areas labeled in green are outposts.
Prophecies Tour[edit]
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS
Prophecies is split into six areas: Ruins of Ascalon, Northern Shiverpeaks, Southern Shiverpeaks, Kingdom of Kryta, Maguuma Jungle, and the Crystal Desert.
The order of outposts in each region assumes that the runner began the tour in Lion's Arch (as opposed to starting in Ascalon City). In my opinion, this is the most efficient method to running a Prophecies tour.
Kingdom of Kryta[edit]
Start from Lion's Arch. The outposts to the west (toward the Maguuma Jungle) are completed first, followed by the outposts to the east.

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS
In August 2008, Demonic Sin Ex, Miss Derviish, and me discovered the exploit to cross The Desolation without the aid of a wurm or resurrection skills. The discovery occurred after a week of experimentation. After hundreds of consecutive attempts, we began to see a pattern to how and when the Sulfurous Haze effect was applied. Once this pattern was discovered and understood, it was relatively simple to reliably reproduce it. Prior to this discovery, players were crossing The Desolation by using resurrection skills such as Eternal Aura and Lively Was Naomei to cross a portion of the sulfur, die, resurrect, and then run the remaining distance to the next safe spot. Our discovery in 2008 meant that runners no longer had to die in order to successfully run the Desolation. The discovery also greatly increased speed, efficiency, and the variety of running builds that could be used. To read more about the mechanics of the sulfur and how my exploit works, please refer to Guide to the Desolation run, created by Demonic Sin Ex and I.
ZoneTimer[edit]
ZoneTimer is a tool I developed that runners can use to automatically and accurately time how fast they complete runs. Instead of dealing with the hassle and unreliability of a stopwatch, simply run this program while logged into a character, do a run, and the program will do the rest.
For more information and to download/discuss ZoneTimer, please refer to ZoneTimer Development Page.
Texmod Modifications[edit]
I have created many Texmod modifications, some of which are meant to help runners. I hope you enjoy my contributions to the community!
Cartography Made Easy (Cantha 2014)[edit]
The original "Cartography Made Easy" modification created by the guild "Mystical Chaos" was last updated in 2009 and is missing many patches of fog that can be uncovered. I took it upon myself to recreate the mod from scratch and update it to conform with all the areas able to be explored in the meta game. It features a different fog color (a nice sky blue), notes describing how to access exclusive areas, and red boundaries around areas of fog that cannot be uncovered. This modification is listed in the directory of player-made modifications.
For more information and to download/discuss this modification, please refer to Cartography Made Easy (Cantha 2014) Development Page.
Desolation Runner[edit]
Back when I was the leader of Electric Celerity (a running guild I founded in 2009 and disbanded in 2011), I created a Texmod package that was meant to help runners not familiar with the mechanics of The Desolation. This modification highlights all the dangerous sulfur in red so runners can easily distinguish "safe" from "unsafe". This modification is listed in the directory of player-made modifications.
Note: Texture quality must be set to medium or higher for this modification to have any effect.

Oldschool Prophecies World Map[edit]
When I started playing Guild Wars, I loved how the world map looked and was sad to see it go with the release of Eye of the North. By using the original game files from 2005, I created a Texmod modification that reverts the current Prophecies world map to the way it was back in 2005. I used this modification when I created an oldschool warrior and it made the experience much more enjoyable. This modification is listed in the directory of player-made modifications.

Factions Running Routes[edit]
Cantha can be a very confusing place to run people through. This modification alleviates that confusion by showing running routes on the world map/minimap. Not all the routes are shown, just the ones that matter when rushing players through the Factions campaign. This modification is listed in the directory of player-made modifications.
