His Tale:

Matt was raised by the Elders of the Luxon Armada from birth; His parents had abandoned him. From a young age he had the gift of excellent sight, which some of the elders believed was a gift from Melandru herself. After a decade of training, he had surpassed even some of the elder skilled rangers in the tribe, and was the youngest expert ranger in the history of Cavalon. By the age of seventeen, he had fought in eleven wars against the Kurzicks, and through his ability to kill without being seen, earned the title "Matt The Demon".
Bored of the never ending Luxon-Kurzick wars, Matt left Cavalon to travel the world and explore exotic places. This lust for adventure drove him to Elona, where he became a Sunspear. During his service, he gained the friendship of Tahlia Spiritbane, who turned out to be a Luxon, of the same tribe as himself.
Little did he know, Tahlia was closer to him than he thought..
Being born on Day 200, 1561 CC (1051 AE), Mathelios Menden was twenty-one when he departed Cavalon, headed for the Shing Jea Monastery to aid in Ranger training. Shortly after his arrival, he was sent out with other students to warn the Tengu at Aerie of the plaguebearers (the Afflicted) after the discovery of them at Minister Cho's Estate. He continued on with the students (including one Tahlia Spiritbane) throughout their journey, travelling through KC, the Echovald Forest, and even the Jade Sea, before returning to Raisu Palace to take on and defeat the demon Shiro Tagachi.
It was in his journey back through his homeland that "The Demon learned of his history; One night, just outside Kaineng as the rest of the companions where setting up camp, a lone Melandru's Stalker approached Mathelios and paced for a short moment before turning and bolting off to stop and watch him until he followed. Eventually, after a nice long trip he found himself at small shack on the border of the Echovald Forest and the Jade Sea. The stalker lead him to the door, but before he could knock a young woman answered. "Melandru told me you would come, Matt the Demon. You seek answers of your past, but unfortunately I cannot give you them. Maybe should you find yourself back home, your elders may have the answers you seek." From that day forth, not only did Mathelios have more questions on his mind about his past, but also gained a new ally, Shade, his new Melandru Stalker pet (more of a friend to him than a pet). When his groups travels did indeed return him to him and Tahlia's home, he immediately sought the elders who had raised him. After a heated argument, which - to the elders' surprise - had been intruded upon by Tahlia, they reconsidered. They spoke of Mathelios' father being a Luxon Ranger located at Gyala Hatchery until recently when he disappeared. They spoke of his mother who had been murdered by Kurzicks when he was at the Monastery. However, the biggest shock was finding out that Tahlia Spiritbane was indeed his younger sister, who had been sent to a different Luxon settlement to train separately from him. After this knowledge, his bond with his sister only grew stronger, until they parted ways after the death of Shiro. Matt's whereabouts after this were widely unknown, until 1078 AE, when the fissures were created in the Plains of Jarin in Elona, Just outside Lion's Arch in Tyria, and just outside Kaineng City in Cantha. He met Vekk, Ogden Stonehealer and Katrina the Wholy Wrath shortly before the destroyers chased them to an Asura gate, subsequently dropping them in the Far Shiverpeaks.

Some miscellaneous facts have been gathered on Matt The Demon, like his bow, a Melandru-touched Destroyer Recurve Bow, a reward for his services.

Not that many more records of his adventures have been discovered since, with the Ranger and Katrina having dissappeared. The only information was of twin daughters born after the defeat of The Great Destroyer near to the end of 1078 AE. Sources close to the two claimed the names of the twins had been Fiona and Alyssa.

It is said that he had stored many accolades in his Hall of Monuments, intending to save them there for his descendants..
