After an all-night coding spree (and an few hours to fix the numerous bugs I made that late at night), version 1.0 is now live. Users of the previous version will need to reinstall the js portion of the script - that means you, Ab.er.rant =P
This last patch took care of some issues and added some features that I've been planning for a while. Note that I jumped up to 1.0 from 0.8 - yeah. That's right, 0.9 - sucks to be you.
Installation instructions:
This is a two-part installation.
- Go to your Monobook.js file and add the line "
{{subst:User:MisterPepe/AVT/install.js}}
" - Go to your Monobook.css file and add the line "
{{subst:User:MisterPepe/AVT/code.css}}
"
Clear your browser's cache (Ctrl+shift+f5 should do it for most browsers), and you should be up and running!
Compatibility/configuration notes:
- This script is more or less compatible with GuildWatch, though users may experience installation difficulties due to multiple copies of ImportScript being installed.
- This script should also be compatible with GWWT, but Poke and I are working on making them mesh a little bit better. I've recently added the setting
AVTCompatibilityMode = false
to the installer - changing this option to "true" will get rid of the tabs that are duplicated by GWWT. - The setting
AVTDeltabs = true
should be set to "false" for users who do not want to use the deletion tagging system built into AVT (primarily for people who prefer the GuildWatch/GWWT method or are sysops). - Finally, any sysops who want to use the enhanced deletion functions should set
AVTSysop = false
to "true" instead.
Current features:
- One-click GWW:NOTICE ticket creation - because I always need more work to do =P
- Research links (Wikipedia, GuildWiki, WHOIS, four different IP Blacklists, and Tor node checking) that appear on User, User talk, and Contributions pages of any IP users.
- One-click user warning system for dealing with minor vandals. Also, it's got support for the {{welcome}} template - because that really matters when you're dealing with vandals ;)
- One-click deletion tagging overloaded by namespace - you won't see I4 as an option while viewing a user page =P
- Diff pages now show a "Restore" link for one-click restoring of an old revision.
- Adds links: User Contributions, Userspace, Diff with previous edit, GWW:NOTICE, Special:Log
- Sysops get access to simplified deletion and blocking links. Please note that, while I could have, the blocking functions are NOT one-click to avoid my swift death at the hands of Dirigible. You know it's true...
Upcoming features:
- The ability to check and see if an IP address is part of the AOL network (dynamic).
- The ability for a sysop to (with one click) hide vandalism and the subsequent rollback from the Recent changes listing.
- Altered quick-delete options (sysop) - the current ones are not entirely useful =P
- I am always looking for new suggestions for useful things to add. If you've got an idea, I'd love to hear it ;)
