Preferred Play Style and Insights

I've played Guild wars since it's release. I was attracted to the monk class, mostly because I enjoy playing a support role and not being the "star" of whatever team I'm on. Plus, I love the Monk dance. What better reason does a person need?

Monk play demands a great deal of stoicism and patience. Although deaths should be prevented if possible, they often are unavoidable. As such, my best advice to the beginning monk is to not get rattled or bothered overmuch by party member's deaths. That's what rez sig is for! In GvG, if a party member dies, nine out of ten times it's because they weren't within healing range, which is often times a calculated risk on their part moreso than a failure on your part. Use voice communication software to keep party members aware of their positioning relative to you; if they're worried about dying, they'll come running! Monking is a mindset, not a class, in my opinion.
