User:NuclearVII/Poll for GW2
.
That question, friends, is about GW2.
Over the last few days, we've seen GW go in to the toilet. Game balance is conveniently ignored, player feedback virtually cast aside, the tiniest remains for balance are swept away as a good game I once known has become food for bad and drooling fanbois with confidence and epeen issues.
The very limited and passive feedback has given us the same glossy bullshit, and now, I speak for everyone, I think, nobody knows where the hell GW is going. If Ursan and some of the other broken shit are any indication, it ain't going where any one of us wants it to be going.
However, the feedback has always fed us the (or tried to) "We're working on GW2!" line. I am not a programmer, nor have I been in gaming industry, so I cannot comment, not can I question the integrity of the devs without troubling my conscience. Therefore, leaving the whole "Devs ain't doing their shit right" argument aside, I want to ask you, all of you, this one question:
Are you going to buy GW2?
On one hand, we have a great game company, Anet, whom have proven themselves in creating a great game when they got their time to do it. It can be confidently argued that the failure of the expansions can be blamed on the small time they've had, which was, as I'm informed, a result of their "an expansion every 6 months" business plan - and again, you have to take this fact with a grain of salt. I'm also doubtless in their ability to create a wonderful and awe-inspiring game world, in given time.
On the other hand, however, the playerbase has rapidly changed due to the shift in the philosophy of the game - what once was a skill-promoting and actively rewarding game has been turned into a grindfest. I can confidently state that, while we may have a second Prophecies, we won't have a second prophecies playerbase. Furthermore, this very change in the philosophy and play style is giving me incredible doubts - I have originally purchased GW because of one very simple factor - the level cap. I knew that this was a grindless game that rewarded skill, but GW2 seems to have every indication to be more like WoW. Moreover, considering Anet's tendency in the past of acknowledging and even approving fanboy-feedback (Which, by pure coincidence, is appallingly ignorant and full of shit) leaves me to believe they are going to take this seriously. Even if they take 5% of what's on that page, that's enough shit right there to fuck up any well designed game.
So answer me this: Considering the failures and successes, are you going to buy GW2?
