Fuck yeah, I'm so buying GW2!!![edit]

  • I think it will be worthwhile, even though i am seriously <grrr> about all all the things i lost after various updates. --Silverleaf User_talk:Silverleaf 13:13, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
  • THE INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!!! --Mme. Donelle 17:43, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
  • We have little information, but from what we know now it looks like they finally are doing many things right. With only the info we got I would preorder GW2 without seeing even 1 screenshot. It looks that promising. --YawgYawg 19:47, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
  • You can play a Charr, I mean cmon how awesome is that? On a serious note though: I am going to play GW2 IF and only IF I read good things about it. Dark Morphon(contribs) 07:30, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
  • It's worth a try. I enjoyed the first game, so why not try the second? — Eloc 03:50, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I like GWs. I know there's some things that it could improve on, and GW2 was slated to make a lot of those improvements. Even if it's not perfect, I still expect it to be good. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 03:32, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
  • Count me in. --talk Large 06:01, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
  • Will have to reaffirm in the beta but I have high hopes for this game. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 01:06, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
  • I am quite exited about Guild Wars 2, from all the things I have read on the website. Hopefully it will be better than the already awesome Guild Wars. Hidan Santai 03:10, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Nowai, my money is on some other MMORPG[edit]

  • Money is already going somewhere else- at least blizzard is better at ensuring all classes have some usefulness at the top end of play. (Yes, even in pvp- everyone has something to bring). --Kalas Silvern 18:41, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
  • GW2 has jumping. I disliked that from WoW. I'm gonna stick with GW1 forever. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 02:48, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Smart Discussion[edit]

Informed discussion goes here. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 14:45, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Depends, really. For every dumb decision made by Arena Net, there's something great to be found within Guild Wars (I have just played through the quest The Impossible Sea Monster - that they really expected someone to keep a level 10 NPC alive through such a big map and made a part of the quest text to only appear if said NPC survives is something that amuses me greatly). Right now we have a vague promise to "alter the grind currently associated with many PvE-only skills", which hopefully will lesser the grind aspect of the game, and may be a sign that GW2 won't be so heavily focused on grind. In other hand, we have one of the worst playerbases I have ever seen, who's constantly pushing the game into bad directions. Whether GW2 will have mostly Arena Net's vision of a skill-rewarding game with as little grind as possible, or a fanboy's vision of as much grind, "c00ln3ss" and e-peen as possible, I think we'll only be able to see when an almost finished beta arrives. Erasculio 15:29, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I played GW1 mostly for pvp, especially since pve died/was ruined/economy went to hell/is too easy. I quit because pvp became too "We're the 8 worst players in the game, but it doesn't matter because we have broken imbaskills. Our three dervishes do more damage than 10 warriors and apply 3 deep wounds every second, and you can't prevent the damage because we also have Remove target player from the game!"
If izzy's working on GW2, it means pvp will suck.
Is Anet is working on GW2, it means pve will suck.
I already have a game with both those qualities, why would I buy another one? ~Shard (talk) User Shard Sig Icon.png 23:38, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

WhyWouldntIbuyGW2? Lilondra 17:21, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't think Izzy working on pvp will be that big a doomsayer. Prophecies pvp was good, and Izzy made that. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 08:15, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Both Factions and Nightfall (both of which I liked) had much more shorter development time than Prophecies did. EN I think was the quickest to develop. GW2 is being done with all the time they need, with constant feedback from multiple sources and, unlike with GW, with 3 years of experience on the things they wanted to do, what worked and what didn't. So yes, I am buying GW2. Peace! --Nekki 14:20, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
You're a better person than I to assume good faith like that. I'm not touching another ArenaNet product until they prove they've learned something from those three years, especially about balancing. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 15:03, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
What I really wonder if they have learned or not is long time planning. The problems introduced in Factions and Nightfall could have be seen coming (adding 300 skills with the second expansion, 350 with the third, and so on; adding professions that were obviously going to be problems in the long run; and etc). I wonder if Arena Net has now a plan for at least the next 3 years of GW2 - if not, IMO they should. Erasculio 15:13, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
At the moment there isn't enough active information about Guild Wars 2 to prompt me to continue to what to go out and buy it. This may change as we get closer to release date but at the moment it just sounds like they're going to redo the original but in WoW style. How Arenanet has handled this in between time I have been heavily critical of, yes they can make a good game, this is true, but letting Guild Wars degenerate this far is something that doesn't inspire me to continue to spend my money on them. For me the original saving grace was the fact there were no fees, then what really attracted me was on the back of the box, skill seemed more important, which I learnt pretty quickly wasn't exactly true. GWEN for want of a better term, ruined the Guild Wars experience for me so that marks my interest in Guild Wars 2 and Arenanet. Still, its early days. 000.00.00.00 18:48, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
If GW2 is like proph only with playable Charr, I'd buy. If GW2 is like EotN only with playable Charr... do I really need to answer that? =\ Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 05:40, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm not honestly liking WoW on the PvP side, and the PvE side is getting a bit meh (too many alts and not enough raids makes Armond a sad guy). But once I get raiding I'll probably get hooked on it (and the expansion's already in public beta, so that'll be moar2do!). GW2 will have to be good enough to break me away from both WoW and Project Thelassia before I buy it. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 14:11, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

I like the game (GW). I like its lore. I like its professions, except for Assassins. I'll be buying GW2. More than anything because I found a lot of really cool people in my guild to add to my list of friends, and most of them (If not all) will be buying GW2. I'd like to keep in touch with them, so... that's a no brainer. --talk Large 06:03, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
