Garin Queensguard
Garin is a gentle big teddy bear whom serves as protection for Prince Rurik and his fiancee-hence the surname Queensguard. He comes from a long family line of men who served as royal bodyguards. His greatest joy is in raising his daughter, who melts his heart. He is from a large family full of brothers and one sister- Trista (which he helps take care of since she lost her husband in the war against the Charr...she has a daughter (Keeley) who is like a sister rather than a niece to Kitiara since Garin is always helping take care of them.
Morrigan Queensguard:
A unique and special woman - a hidden personal bodyguard of the soon to be queen - Lady Althea; Morrigan is a woman skilled with the sword and is responsible for making sure her daughter can wield one as well. She is grooming Kitiara to follow her footsteps. Her special job is how she met and fell in love with Garin. A very beautiful woman whom he thought was only Althea's lady in waiting until Morrigan saved her life during a surprise attack during a caravan travel from Nolani Academy. Her prowess with the sword shocked and enticed him and he has been entranced by her ever since.
Young Kitiara:
Doted on by her father, cherished by her mother; little Kitiara is oblivious to the fate that will burden her come her 20th birthday...it is a secret her mother and father keep in hopes that the Gods will not come to collect. Though they could not see Tidus, they were told an angel disobeyed the Gods and blessed Kitiara's mother with the possibility to carry the child to full term. The God's nevertheless demanded that Kitiara owe them a debt of service once she is of age. Desparate not to lose their only hopes of a child, the parents accepted the cruel offer.
Kitiara Queensguard - Age 20:
Kitiara is a strong-willed and loyal daughter, soon to take her mother's place upon the crowning of the Lady Althea. She has never ventured outside the area of Old Ascalon, as there has been no need since the Lady Althea travels very little outside the palace walls. Kitiara is content with her life, and loves her family dearly. Her competitiveness in proving herself amongst her male counterparts as a bodyguard has kept her from having any interest in considering finding someone to court her let alone settle down with. While she still has a few years of training left to equal that of her mother, she has shown she is well on her way to mastering the elite skills of the sword. The constant doting of her father and protectiveness of her mother often makes her yearn to break free of their tight grasp but her deep love and respect for them drives her to follow her mother's footsteps in becoming the private bodyguard of Lady Althea.
Trista Blacksmith:
Sister of Kitiara's father, Trista has raised her daughter with the help of Kitiara's family. Her husband though brave was the town blacksmith and volunteered to help fight the Charr but lost his life in the battle to help protect the Northern Wall for the king. Sorrowful of her loss yet grateful for her brother's family, she is like a second mother to Kitiara and treats her as if she were her own. Though she is alone to raise her daughter Keeley, she feels no difficulty in raising her because of the help from Kitiara's family - an act which has helped to mend the heartbreak from the loss of her husband. She also has no idea of the pact which Kitiara's parents have made with the Gods. She takes pride in spoiling Kitiara since she is her only niece yet depends on her to be a "big sister" to her own daughter.
Keeley Blacksmith
With only her father's sparkling blue eyes as a token of his memory, Keely doesn't remember her father and considers Kitiara's father as her own. Full of spirit and playfullness, Keeley seems untouched by the pressures of the Charr - a peaceful and content life which her mother takes great pains to provide for her. She deeply admires Kitiara and loves to shadow her every move.
