- Ok, I'll start, since everyone else is a "Coward!".
- Why is Anet trying to turn rangers into a carbon copy of mesmers? (degen and interrupt focused, little or no direct damage/direct damage options) Rangers should be ranged versions of warriors. If I want a mesmer I would have made a mesmer.
- That's a bad question and you should feel bad for asking it. Misery 21:43, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Fails for not understanding the point of Rangers, and what the point of them always has been since this game began. Arshay Duskbrow 21:54, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- "Always has been" means room for improvement. It is time for Anet to improve, not for them to fall asleep at their desks and pretend nothing happened. Rangers need a complete rework-less focus on conditions and interrupts and more focus on damage. If you want a ranged utility-only class, use the optional expansion professions but give everyone else the basic options that would normally be expected. Oh, and WTB less trolling and irrelevant posts. If I want a mesmer, I'll run a mesmer. I made a ranger to fight from range, not just inflict degen and interrupts. Finally, WTB a Troll Unguent for the 2 stupid troll posts above.
- Enjoy failing then. :D Arshay Duskbrow 16:59, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Go away and stop trolling. WTB another Troll Unguent for a fail troll named Arshay Duskbrow.
- You are an amazing troll Mr. Anonymous. I salute you. Misery 23:51, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- You know the most ironic thing? Paragons, the class you picked to be the "ranged utility" class, are in fact much closer to the "ranged Warrior" you want than Rangers ever have been, or ever will be. Allow me to LOL again. <LOL> :D Arshay Duskbrow 01:07, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- That's the problem. All players have access to the crap ranged class, but you have to fork out another $50 for the "good" ranged class. How is that not like a korean grind fest in the tradition of MapleStory and Last Chaos?
- The one trolling must be you, because if you actually believe Rangers are "crap", you have utterly failed to understand Guild Wars. Rangers are arguably the most powerful profession. We do damage, we do cripple, poison, bleed, burning, daze, blind, we do interrupts, we do hammers, we do scythes, we kite and cannot be kited, we shrug off elemental spells, we block weapon attacks, we remove our own conditions, we have incredible e-management. Hexes are your only prayer of stopping us, and only if you can get them off without interruption. Uninstall your game, please. Arshay Duskbrow 02:32, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

- Wielding a spear does not make the Paragon a ranged attacker. In fact, the bow's attack skills are so much better than the spear's it's not even funny. I'd take a ranger over a paragon any day when needed just for attacking. Did you know that the Ranger is actually better with a spear than the Paragon? 145.94.74.23 12:05, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Bow attacks should be much better than spear attacks because they cost twice as much, Oh, and bows don't get spammable, unblockable, undodgeable +42 damage bonuses, spammable bleeding, burning in a non-elite, deep wound, and unconditional non-elite dazed. Bows are way too slow and you cannot use a shield with them. How is that balanced? Oh, and anything is broken with a scythe.
Stupid subject is stupid. This is why the real staff pages are so heavily modded and didn't want users replying to everything, because idiots bring up idiotic things.-- anguard 20:41, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- I should just tag things as worthwhile or not. I read it all, anyway. Raine - talk 22:50, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- At the guy that posted 3 posts above this: you don't understand bows and their skills. Seriously. 145.94.74.23 08:48, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- I understand bow skills perfectly well. Apart from their elite bow attacks, there are 3 or 4 bow attacks that are overpowered and the rest of them are useless garbage. Having 3 or 4 non-elites that should be elite while having the rest of your skills suck badly is not balanced. It just means that everyone in that profession will just run the same build or variation on build. Nerf the overpowered skills and buff everything else, then we'll actually see more marksmanship skill bars than "elite, savage, distracting, hunter's, preparation, ..." There is no excuse for having stuff like this and this being overpowered while everything else is left to rot in the garbage bin.
- That, I wholeheartedly agree with. Also, please sign. Raine - talk 01:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
- Funny, I never use those skills much on my ranger. I do find he can do plenty of damage though. Quick Shot+Needling Shot+Ignite Arrows with a max damage sundering bow=lots of rapid-fire damage, especially with high Expertise to allow you to really spam those already cheap skills (the two shots are both 5 each normally, at 13 Expertise it goes down to only 2, and the prep to 5). --Axwind 13:13, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

- That's because, quite honestly, those are the only good skills for a Ranger that are bow-based, beyond this (which is obviously overused, even so much that secondaries abuse it). Needling Shot transcends meta now, once people figured out that Expertise is actually good for a ranger (free energy management FTW) it's been used incessantly. And I agree that bows are terrible compared to spears, but remember that spears have half the range. Obviously that won't save the argument, I understand.
Just to be disagreeable and grumpy on this very fine day, people run power shot in GvG on a Glass Arrows ranger. Not all that often, but it is still ran. Pika Fan 01:39, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but PS is just a filler when you can't find anything else in your second profession (not necessarily secondary, remember) to deal damage with that's a bow skill. It's spammable and somewhat cheap, which is why it's used. Glass Arrows is actually effective, though. Seriously, a skill that causes Bleeding on block-happy foes (I'm looking at you, FB abusing sins) and if it isn't blocked, acts as a cheap PS is probably going to be effective. The only problem is obvious: it uses your elite spot. Synapsetalk
- Again, but this time actually making sense and sticking to the topic? Pika Fan 04:23, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
