Dervish Equipment[edit]

Armor Rating:[edit]

Current:[edit]

  • "Basic Dervish armor provides up to 70 armor, 5 extra energy, 25 extra health and 2 extra energy recovery."

Proposed:[edit]

Raine's Proposal:[edit]

  • "Basic Dervish armor provides up to 80 armor, 5 extra energy, 2 extra energy recovery and 10 extra armor against elemental damage."
    • Giving a frontline class 70 AL and no primary shield option has always seemed rather silly to me. I'd wager that anet thought that giving them "protective enchantments" would make up for it; why aren't warriors required to cast protective enchantments on themselves to be durable? As frontline, being required to stop in the midst of an an engagement to enchant yourself simply isn't an option. As such, I've upped the basic armor rating to 80 (the same as the other frontline profession), with an additional 10 armor against Elemental damage (simply for the sake of making it different). The end result is a character that's more durable than an Assassin (who isn't supposed to be frontline, technically), but not as specialized as a Warrior or a Ranger in their respective domains. Scythes:[edit]

Current:[edit]

  • Base:
    • Maximum damage range: 9 - 41.
    • Damage type: Slashing damage.
    • Attack rate: 1.75 seconds.
  • Modifiers:
  • Scythes have the inherent ability to strike up to three targets in adjacent frontal range.
    • All bonuses and penalties (e.g., Vampiric mods or Insidious Parasite) will be calculated per successful hit. This includes bonuses from attack skills, such as Desperation Blow, which will do its bonus damage to each struck foe, and may cause different Conditions on those foes.
    • Note that the scythe AoE range is not the same that Cyclone Axe or Ancestors' Rage use. It is slightly larger than the "adjacent to foe" range, given in the Isle of the Nameless.

Proposed:[edit]

Raine's Proposal:[edit]

Short Scythe:[edit]
  • Base:
    • Maximum main damage range: 9 - 41.
    • Maximum adjacent damage range: Short Scythes do not strike adjacent targets.
    • Maximum hits: 1
    • Attack rate: 1.55 seconds.
      • The short scythe retains its ability to spike and pressure hard, at the cost of losing its AoE ability. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 07:36, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Wide Scythe:[edit]
  • Base:
    • Maximum main damage range: 12 - 35.
    • Maximum adjacent damage range: 9 - 28.
    • Maximum hits: 5
    • Attack rate: 1.75 seconds.
      • The wide scythe retains the AoE capacity of the original scythe, but has reduced damage and lower AoE damage. As such, it's better for spreading conditions, but suffers on single-target spiking. The hit range is the "Adjacent" range given on the Isle of the Nameless. Heavy Scythe:[edit]
  • Base:
    • Maximum main damage range: 14 - 41.
    • Maximum adjacent damage range: 12 - 35.
    • Maximum hits: 3
    • Attack rate: 2.0 seconds.
      • This scythe packs high damage and AoE almost on par with the original scythe, at the cost of being the single slowest melee weapon in the game (matching axe base attack speed with a 33% IAS). This one comes the closest to directly nerfing the original by slowing the attack speed. The hit range is the same as that of the original scythe.
