Item Mods[edit]

Of Warding mod[edit]

Current:[edit]

  • "+7 armor (vs. elemental damage)"

Proposed:[edit]

145.94.74.23's Proposal:[edit]

  • "+10 armor (vs. elemental damage)"
    • 2 additional armor isn't worth taking over the more generic +5 armor that the "of Defense" mod gives against all damage. Also, this change may (as part of more changes) help address the often-heard complaint that casters deal too much damage. 145.94.74.23 12:33, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Martial Inscriptions[edit]

Current:[edit]

  • "Anything but 15^50 is scoffed at, and the other inscriptions simply aren't typically considered viable."

Proposed:[edit]

Ryuu's Proposal:[edit]

  • "Completely redesign any inscriptions that are lolterrible."
    • Many inscriptions are not used for their obvious terrible conditional effects (20% damage increase while under 50%? Kay... That's nice, but if I'm winning a game the monk probably just casted WoH or ZB on me...Just for an example.) Damage +15% while in a stance? What happens if your stance gets removed?, you're better off bringing a more frequently seen conditional effect, and this generally leaves 15^50 or in some rare cases 15% while enchanted as viable. Buffs to any of the other inscriptions (such as while in a stance, or vs hexed foes) would encourage better play to meet the conditions of those inscriptions, and not just play strength of honor and say "lol lookit my damages", with absolutely no synergy or logic being used other than the fact that you're not half dead. The inscriptions with hefty punishment should have the value of the punishment reduced, and the effected slightly increased. (-10 armor while attacking? Why?) The while hexed inscription on the other hand is also quite conditional, and chances are that if you're hexed it probably means you have empathy or spiteful on and shouldn't attack anyway, so in this instance either the conditional effect should be completely redesigned, or buffed to "lolwutimba" values. In short, redesign the damage inscriptions to require intellect and bar synergy to properly cause efficient spikes. Make melee gear setup require a little thinking about synergy with the current build. ~RyuuUser Ryuu Desu Sig.png[ Talk|Contributions ] 17:00, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
