Create user account[edit]
sounds basic but its the first step, click on log in /create at the top of the page and make an account this will give you your own space you can start editing. At the top of your new page will be a create button (this will be replaced with edit once you have saved some work), simply click this to start adding you templates.
Templates[edit]
Templates are what we use on page that tells the computer to use information stored somewhere else within the wiki to display on our page and using them cuts out the hard part of making a user page that looks good without writing the code ourself. To make or basic page the only thing you need on your main page is this

copy the code above and paste it on your page changing where it says "Your User Name" for errrm your user name hehe. Now save your page using the button at the bottom of the page and you should see a basic page lay out with templates ready to be made.
Colours[edit]
You can now change the tint, background and groove colours, I have labeled them simply with red, blue and green so it can be clearly seen how they display on the page. Wiki have a guide to color that can be found here or there are many colour charts on the web, i like http://immigration-usa.com/html_colors.html dont forget all 6 digit codes must start with the # key so #f0f0f0 for example. You may want to get your nav template added first to make sure your colours complement your theme. As for editing all your work you can use the "Show preview" button at the bottom of the page to see your progress.
Adding the templates[edit]

This is what a template looks like when it has not been created yet, click on it and you will now be on a new page, to keep it simple the templates for each section can be found below. You can copy the template paste it into your page and edit the information to suit yourself.
[edit]
The nav template can be found here
Editing help:
- Change colours to suit you page as shown above
- Next replace the header logo with one of you own, I like to use photoshop to make mine. Once you have your logo ready to upload just change the

with you your own user name and file name, once your page is saved you will have a red link that can be clicked on to be taken to the image upload screen. Be very carefull using images from the web as wiki have very strict copyright polocies.
If you prefer you may just replace the image link with simple text, for example
<font face="Comic Sans MS " color="blue" size="9">Strix</font>
will show as
Strix
- Edit your links
Replace "your User Name" with your own and follow the / with what you want your new page to be about. Anything written after the | will be what is written on the page instead of writitng the link eg.
User:Your User Name/HOM
will link to your HOM page and be displayed as User:Your User Name/HOM where as
Hall Of Monuments
will also link to your HOM page but will display as Hall Of Monuments
- Edit your bullets
Just replace

There are lots of images within the wiki that can be used or you can upload one of your own in the same way as your logo.
About, Guildwars, contacts[edit]
for template click here
These sections are very simple and you can use them to write whatever content you want on your page
Userbox[edit]
for template click here
You can put anything in this box and adding an image or not is purely your choice. Most commonly they are for adding userboxes to your page but may also be used as extra or page specific navigation.
This is an example of a userbox
This user a member of Eternal Clarity or part of the Ankh alliance! |
to add this to our page we would write
User Eternal Clarity
You can find out how to add the box you like by clicking on the "user" part This should take you to where the box is shown complete with the correct template link.
Large page template[edit]
If you wanted to create a page that fits in with your main page but with only one main are section(say for hall of monuments etc..) you can use this code

Finding Templates[edit]
lots of people on the wiki have templates here are a few I have used.
- one of the best is Wyn, templates can be found here
- one I made for logging treasure visits can be found here
- Windz has some great templates for progress bars and can be found here
One way I use is simply if I see new things to use I like is to click edit on the page and see how it works and if it something I can adapt to use for myself. Most people like to be credited for thier work so take the time to add a thanks somewhere on your page if you have used something that has been of help to you. That said most pages on the wiki, my own included are revamps or reworks at least in part of someone else's page so you very often probably wont be giving credit where it is truely due.
Last note[edit]
The beauty of the the user pages is they can be as simple or complex as you want to make them. To give you some idea of how they can work when all of the above is put together, I am including some links to user spaces I have made so far
Any questions feel free to ask, I am most often on Spirit of Ankh in game, this guide is mostly because most people want to make it for themselves but are very unsure where to start.
Good Luck!
