Support
Preparatory, preemptive, or compensatory defensive action. Improves the ability of primary actors (frontline, damage, healer) to function; secondary actor.
- Utility
- Aggressive defensive action: affects entities external to the party.
- Special contribution, effect, or action that increases my or other party members' chances of success by blunting, manipulating, or modifying threats or other factors of the combat environment, as well as disrupting preexisting environmental equilibriums or systems in favorable ways.
- Disruption
- Actions and effects which impede the ability of external threats to successfully perform actions. Note that "perform" in this sense merely means doing something, not the quality or effectiveness with which it is done. Some overlap with Detention, but usually short-term and abrupt.
- Interruption
- interrupts lol words go here later
- Inoperation
-
- Knockdownery!
- briefly completely removes all paths of possible action better words later
- MAYBE THIS BELONGS IN CONTROL??? :O
- Control
- Reduces enemy choices and manoeuvrability instead of directly modifying action packets.
- Snare
- Reduces enemy manoeuvrability.
- Detention
- Completely denies enemy capability to function in one or all lines of action ("crowd control"). Some overlap with Disruption, but usually broader, longer-term, and premeditated.
- Stripping
- The aggressive action of undoing or removing positive effects that improve enemy powers, abilities, defenses, or otherwise increase the severity, effectiveness, or threat of enemy strategy. Increases party chance of success by reducing enemy performance back to baseline levels.
- Debility ( "debuff" )
- Makes enemy worse. Smart consistent wording later when awake.
- Impairment
- Special effect that decreases an external threats' danger to the party by directly modifying the effectiveness or quality of its performed actions.
- Embrittlement
- Implicitly enhances performance of powers or abilities.
- Special effect that makes an external threat easier to remove by weakening either its ability to resist or survive the party's strategy or the ability of its allies to effectively protect and support it.
- True Support
- Passive defensive action: affects entities internal to the party.
- Special effect that increases my (and OR exclusiveOr) other party members' chances of success through directly improving their powers or defenses.
- Enhancement
- Explicitly enhances performance of powers or abilities.
- Special effect that directly increases effectiveness of party members' actions, powers, or abilities (which may also include mine but is never exclusive to me).
- Proxy buff (foe)
- Transmissively enhances performance of powers or abilities.
- Special effect that increases party members' effectiveness vs. an enemy by improving or modifying powers specifically when used vs. that hostile target.
- Proxy buff (ally)
- Transmissively enhances performance of powers or abilities.
- Special effect that increases effectiveness of party members' positive actions vs. selves or other ally by improving or modifying powers specifically when used vs. that allied target.
- Improvement
- Special effect that increases party members' constitutional effectiveness (which may also include me but is never exclusive to me) by providing benefits that are passively, rather than actively, utilized.
- For example, a +dmg buff requires active action to benefit from (it is an Enhancement), while a +Health buff requires no motivated action to benefit from it (and is thus an Improvement).
- Resource relief
- Special effect or action that reduces party members' resource burden, enabling resources to be spent more freely or effectively with less conservation pressure. This results in more consistent actions, more frequent performance, and less rationing of abilities and powers, thus increasing party chance of success.
- Protection
- Actively or generatively enhances party members' resilience against external threats at a level precedential to reactive measures (see: triage), increasing party chance of success by reducing resource load and increasing survival time against enemy strategy.
Triage
Reactive action once support measures have been breached, circumvented, or pushed through.
- Healing
- The action of undoing preexisting Health damage to me or other party members in order to increase the length of the timespan during which the party can attempt to achieve success.
- Curing
- The action of undoing negative effects which decrease my or other party members' chances of success.
Self-concern
Action designed to reduce the burden I pose to others or personally better my performance.
- Self-protection
- Actions that can be independently taken to resist, avoid, escape, or discourage threats of direct personal harm.
- Self-enhancement
- Special effect that increases my effectiveness in performing my role through directly improving or modifying my powers.
- Proxy bonus
- Self-buff that's dislocated onto a target enemy and thus still of no benefit to anyone but me. Essentially, self-enhancement with a mild logistic shift and different opposing removal strategies.
