weird[edit]
Hmm, i wonder that there's no discussion about this. But that's really strange, other PvE skills like Seed of Life and Elemental Lord get nerved to death, and here Anet doesn't care, despite similar builds being known. It's also weird that some PvE skills are only useful for primaries and others can be used with full potential by other classes. —ZerphaThe Improver 10:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Their uh... reasoning, I guess you could call it... behind those nerfs... is that the PvE skills were augmenting the classes that couldn't find parties easily because they sucked. Like mesmers sucked IRL at pve and still do. Paragons before the nerf were decent, but really hard to use; ANet put these skills in to help the average pve player get into pugs. Elementalists had no real problems getting into parties, so izzy felt no need to have superpowered buffs helping them out.
- The ironic part is that most PvE paragons just use like 7 attack skills and a res, ignoring stuff like party-wide buffs. -Auron 10:48, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- yeah...thanks to the AI of the monsters and a huge amount of AoE Ele skills, they have the biggest advantage in PvE. Sad to say Shutdown isn't as useful as simply huge amounts of damage on a point where the mob likes to clump together in most cases. Mesmers now have some more AoE skills, but Eles have still the upper hand imo. Mes also have other useful skills, which however are often used by other primaries...the weird thing is, their PvE skills are also equally useful for all classes, despite Mesmers being the outsiders in PvE. The Paragon now has a powerful build to find groups, but it's also a pity that most other builds aren't as helpful simply because his skills can be that useful in PvP so that their nerf makes them sparse useful in PvE... —ZerphaThe Improver 12:09, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Meh. Not nearly enough skills are nerfed to really complain that you're out of options. The majority of the whiners just relied on a single broken build to gimmick their way through PvE (i.e., barrage/pet taking advantage of splinter weapon and dumb monster AI to clear entire maps without trying). Rangers really didn't have a choice (because the majority of ranger skills are just... bad), but I don't have sympathy if they're just whining about their farming area requiring skill now. -Auron 13:37, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well, i don't think that their other skills are that bad...but why should they be unhappy about the functionality change of Splinter Weapon? Barrage is now even more devasting. —ZerphaThe Improver 13:59, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- It was a combination of splinter nerf and the pets-not-leaving-corpses thing that ticked barrage/pet teams off. -Auron 01:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Get it right[edit]
Aggy, SY, FA, TNTF, FGJ, Vicious, SoL, EBSHonor, 14 spear, 12 leadership, 7 command/motivation for req 7 15 AL shield. I've never run Anthem of Flame or GftE! on my SY bot, k thx. --Racthoh 05:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- EBShonor on *mah* rank 3 ebon vanguard gon? i think not!
- I generally run with less offense than your (original) build. I pick one attack skill, tops; and it's never vicious if I don't have GtfE. Since I'm too poor to buy a couple req7 shields, I just live with dealing a couple less damage per spear chuck :p -Auron 13:12, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- One attack skill makes me cry. :*(((((((((( --Racthoh 21:12, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
