Signing[edit]
I can't help but notice that your signature on some talk pages is a bit strange, with no real timestamp, such as here or here. Not only does a timestamp help keep track of posts in the same day, although that isn't likely for drop research recently, it also shows if you use a different time zone than UTC server time, the adjustment of which is difficult to do manually. Please use four tildes (~~~~) for all your signing needs, and if you really don't want a timestamp, just use three, though timestamps are usually mandatory. If you don't like how your signature looks, it can be altered in Special:Preferences; more information on this can be found at GWW:SIGN. Thanks. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 17:12, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh crap, I forgot to include that timestamps don't need to be re-added for previous posts. If you'd like, I could add them from the history for you. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 18:46, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it would be nice from you --Badde 18:54, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm actually going to be away for a couple hours, but when I get back I'll help you out. After all, there's no deadline when it comes to Drop research. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 18:58, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I've got time on my hands now, so I guess I'll be going through your contributions and helping you out. Been occupied for the last couple days, sorry, but I guess I've got nothing to do now but neglected duties. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 15:28, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Done! Your edits are now sign-alicous. I'm not touching your edits here, though, as it's my general policy to stay out of update pages. If QQ's were explosives... never mind, that's a terrible joke. If you need anything else, you know where my talk page is. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 15:59, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Pve[edit]
Congratulations, that's the current (and likely the permanent future) situation. I don't dislike consumables that much, but why the heck do you PvE want to be nothing but a mindless grinding game? —ZerphaThe Improver 19:00, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Because it's easier to get items and money that way. -- Brains12 \ talk 19:12, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, that's a point. But why should players also have fast access to prestige? Guild Wars is a game where also new players get a "perfect" equipment very fast already, also having wanted skins in the first days narrows the aims and minimizes the delight of getting them. —ZerphaThe Improver 21:19, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- There are varying levels of prestige -- people just want to get to the highest, no matter how common it is. If it's made easier through imbalance and easy grind, so much the better for us. Of course, this is just my theory about some players, and I have no idea why Badde thinks what he does. -- Brains12 \ talk 21:23, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- The question is whether "prestige" can still be treated as such when it's a common feature for requiring only little efforts of getting it. A game often also has multiple aims where one can "get to the highest". Regarding Guild Wars for example only finishing the campaign would be the main aim, and also doing every mission with master reward/bonus an additional one. If none of the additional features requires time to get "to the highest", the game can get boring fast. I remember the time for example when i adored the players with FoW-armor. I already finished the campaign, but there was another target from which i was still far away. —ZerphaThe Improver 21:50, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- For some players, that really doesn't matter. Just knowing that they're on the "top rung" in terms of the ladder of prestige -- i.e. FoW armour or Tormented weapons -- is enough. In fact, being able to do so in such a short time might be something they like -- it lets them get to the same place on all their characters and become Mr. Uber leet Special Haxxor Guy as quickly as possible. Some enjoy being "higher" than other people, even if the only people below them are new players. The game hasn't yet reached that stage, but it's fast approaching if left like that (or made worse, but I dread to think) for a while. Obviously, this is all just speculation, doom-mongering, and bad faith in players... but the state of the game has reached such that I'm probably not too far off. -- Brains12 \ talk 21:56, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well let me say I'm just tired from all that discussions about Ursan Blessing and things like that. And I think ANet doesn't matter what's on in PvE.. For example there are alot of bugs since the game was released. You can jump behind portals or some mobs won't attack you, for example. -Badde 22:19, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ok. But there's a big diffrence between not caring and not wanting it. —ZerphaThe Improver 23:38, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- You're right. So I updated it. I hope we are all happy now ;) -Badde 00:18, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that looks much better now :D —ZerphaThe Improver 06:38, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
