Skills - project[edit]

Hey Cloud, I've added your name to the list of people involved in the skills-project. Take a look here. I hope you don't mind. It's not like you'll have to do anything else than what you are doing already. :) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 04:44, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

That's fine, maybe I'll even participate in the discussion. Tho I'm kinda discouraged with how things have gone in the skillbox talk, almost seems the way to make progress is to make changes in a hard to revert way and wait for the discussion to stall out with no conclusions :P Cloud 08:46, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
You're right, it isn't the fastest way to progress. However, I want to point you to the following discussion: here. It has a direct influence on your and my desire to add more tags to the {{skill infobox}}. I think you can hook your ideas there too.
Another thing that is usually quite persuasive is to create example pages for the way you'd fill those skill infoboxes with more tags. Take a look at User:CoRrRan/DPLSandbox for how I'm trying to convince people to start using DPL. Just create something like User:Cloud/Skill infobox and create a couple of skills like this User:Cloud/Diversion User:Cloud/Star Burst where you include your page as a template {{User:Cloud/Skill infobox}}. I can then help you by creating a DPL page, to make a nice listing with items that haven't been added to the skill infobox yet. Examples usually really help in discussions. :) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 11:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Talkpage[edit]

Hi Cloud, could u please refrain from doing stuff like this, i know you were trying to help but editing/moving other peoples comment is not allowed ~ KurdKurdsig.png 21:22, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

I know what you're referring to, but I'm kinda confused. I see talk pages, especially large ones split up and rearranged all the time... is it because I split a section in half? I didn't reorder or change individual comments, just moved a big block of them to another section and edited one of my own comments. Sorry, guess its time to read more wiki rules... :/ Cloud 00:33, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Are there any GWW specific guildlines for talk pages? I couldn't find them if there are and after reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines I don't see what I did wrong. There was probably a better way to break it up, or I could at least have used strikeout, but beyond that... Cloud 01:50, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
People generally refrain from moving others' comments out of courtesy; people put their comments where they want their comments to stay. On that note, however, I'm not sure we have actual policy written up on the matter (for those who choose not to be courteous, naturally :P ). -Auron 01:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
There's no reason why GWW needs anything written unless its going to differ from Mediawiki/Wikipedia rules. I understand that its generally bad, but in this case specifically? Admittedly if I realized how much attention the edit itself would get I would've tried harder to do some other approach :P Cloud 02:16, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
As I also stated on my talk page, user talk page restrictions can be found in GWW:USER##User_talk_page_restrictions. - MSorglos (talk|contrib) 05:58, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
