User talk:Elviondale/HoM/Devotion
Sure, customize the minis to activate them for /bonus or /mini would be advantageous. I suppose the only other alternative I could settle with is Devotion is just a minipet storage area and display case; put it in to show to others, take it out when you want to use/sell it when away from your HoM. ~ OhYo 21:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I remember reading on Gaile's talk page (I think) that one of the devs said that specifically that that was not what it was for. TBH, I've heard a lot of people asking for mini storage and this would kinda kill 2 mountain eagles with 1 enslavement stone. Personally, I'd rather have it be a Festival Hats-type thing than a storage thing -elviondale (tahlk) 22:29, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah heres a quote of what she said: James and the design team do not wish the Hall of Monuments to be used as storage in any sense of the word. --Alien 22:44, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

- You are not in position to say what 99% of the players want or do not want, nor is your petition ever going to get support from 99% of the players (as I doubt such huge number even uses this or any other wiki), so please refrain from stating you know that much about the playerbase. - Hmm.. so you're saying that you know the playerbase and can accurately say that they don't want these changes? Try to find someone who disagrees that has been posted so far either on this wiki or guru or ... And thanks for the vote of confidence! However, I take pride that people such as Thor (400+ contributions on Gwiki), Laura (whose user page is amazing, as well as other contributions), and Alien (who singlehandedly brought GWW over the 10,000 mark and has made numerous hi-qual contribs). So please do not ask me to refrain from exaggeration when referring to the majority (remarkably so) of vocal players! (However politely you might ask it!) -elviondale (tahlk) 01:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- I believe I made myself clear enough: you do not have the means to know what 99% of the players think. You do not have the means to know how many players GW has, and therefore you don't have the means to know how many players make a "majority" (be it "vocal" or not) or minority. What we do know is that the 13,801 registered users this wiki has are not the entire GW playerbase, the same applying to those of GWG. Therefore, 100% of the playerbase will not see your ideas, and won't be able to agree or don't agree with what they have not seen. So really, please refrain from such hyperboles, especially when they are your entire reply to good points (such as the one stated by Alien). Erasculio 01:53, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Awwz... now I can't use grammatic devices? Those are my opinions (and obviously the opinions of others) so take it or leave it. Why don't you concentrate on what I've proposed, not whether or not my use of sarcasm in a reply supporting another user is warranted. -elviondale (tahlk) 02:04, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

On thing that needs to be taken into account is that, once activated in GW2, I can't imagine bonuses there can be "lost", so making such bonuses only be active while the minipet was in "storage" would be hard to work. I'm fine with the customization idea, but NOT character-based; account-based, or not at all. As it is, I'm probably not going to bother with this monument, except for maybe sticking a Mini-Pig up there or something. Losing the ability to sell a mimipet is fine by me, but losing the ability to use it on any of my other characters is a bit too harsh, especially as I don't get any benefit for it (at least not for about two years, and who knows if those benefits will be worth it anyway?). -- Jioruji Derako.> 06:17, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually, mentioning GW2, there's something I'm wondering... If, say, you have 2~3 titles away from the next rank of "kind of a big deal", let's say you're working on savior of kurzicks/luxons (both) and perhaps some other lengthy title, such as Gladiator. Now, let's say you're at rank 8~11 of kurzick and/or luxon, and nearing max of the gladiator (or any other title, honestly) By the time GW2 comes out. Now, once you buy and add GW2, These "benefits" will synchronize with GW1, no? If I make characters and start playing GW2, however still wish to come back and finish up those titles in GW1, for the satisfaction and possible "unlocks" in GW2, what would happen? Would I not get these "unlocks" or whatever they're being called, will it update retroactively, or what? Just wondering, seeing as I only started playing 8 months ago, and while I'm highly ambitious, I may not very well be done maxing all the titles I want to by the time GW2 is released. (but who knows, that's quite a while away)76.173.217.181 08:28, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
