Title Balance

PvP players have to realize...most PvE players don't mind that PvP titles are displayed in the Honor monument...we just want to be able to display our PvE titles too. The Hall of Monuments was built up as if we would be able to display maxed out titles...not that we would be able to display our PvP titles. Now we find out only one PvE title gets recognized....AND it doesn't even get a monument...it gets inscribed on the scroll. I'm all for making it possible for PvE AND PvP players to display whatever they want there...hell I think it would be cool if it played the pvp rank emote you have when you click the scroll. The HoM is extremely limited as it is...they need to expand options on both sides of the fence. For PvE titles we should be able to display monuments for any maxed out titles. High ranked but not yet maxed out titles should show up on the scroll...same goes for PvP....high ranked pvp titles that haven't reached the threshold for a monument should show up on the scroll. Only titles that have a monument would get any kind of bonus if anything at all. Also I know Anet doesn't want there to be too many things transferred over from GW1 to GW2...but don't limit the number of things you can display based on that. Some people are building the hall of monuments just to build it...not paying attention to what will transfer over to GW2. Give us the option to show stuff but publish a list of the titles and such that will earn bonuses in GW2.--Thor79••Talk 23:50, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Very good point, and that's why I think ANet might be balking a little bit. They've said that everything has a benefit in GW2- Who knows if they have ideas in mind yet, but its a lot simpler to make just a few than hundreds (why weapons are limited to GWEN only). More than transferring to GW2 (which is nice) and more than showing it off to my friends (braggart!) I like the HoM to show me, myself, and I what I've done over the past 2 years. I would still like to see my R1 of something be immortalized even if it meant no unlock later. And by golly, if you've spent 100's of on minis, you deserve to have those rewards account-wide.

Getting back on the subject of titles, And in regard to the Rainbow Phoenix that is available once you gain a certain rank of maxed titles, I would personally like some sort of pet/effect/aura, what have you, to be gained per 2 ranks of kind of a big deal. Getting a rainbow phoenix is nice, however obtaining something else would be nice also. Not /needed/, but nice. Also, being able to arrange titles easier would be the best thing I could think of. However, as for the way of rainbow phoenix, perhaps you could have some other item obtainable by reaching a certain rank in it. be it weapon skin, pet, effect while the title is on, or aura similar to collector's edition sort of deal would be interesting. It's more of an icing on the cake sort of deal. Mainly I would like to be able to rearrange titles easier.
