hi[edit]

Haven't seen you in forever. Are you still collecting weird odds and ends? I seem to remember you had a fondness for mursaat tokens, but since I haven't run across any in ages I wasn't reminded of you :< What are you up to now? -Auron 11:47, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Heya. I'm not collecting as much as I did. I'm logging here and there for some semi-afk playing, (c-space for completing all campaigns for all toons), and I'm investing my gold in some long-term assets. I'm in TAM atm, (the SMS refugees guild), but real life prevents me from taking an active part in anything besides some random UWSCs and such. Foo 12:42, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Note about bonders' energy bars[edit]

If you notice your bonders' energy dropping intermittently, don't be alarmed. The Madness Titans use Heart of Holy Flame, which makes their attacks deal holy damage. This prevents Essence Bond triggering on those attacks, so the bonders don't receive the +1 energy that they would from any other attack. They should be fine using Blessed Signet until those foes are dead. --RoyHarmon (talk) 20:44, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

Yeah that's a known behaviour of Essence Bond, and is why Balthazar's Spirit is better for the tank's energy management. Check out User:Foo/GoM/Theory for a more detailed breakdown of all energy management methods, and more... Foo 20:51, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
Yes, I understand. I posted this on the GoM discussion page so that people who were reading it could see the note and not be as confused as I was before I figured out what was causing the energy inconsistency. I assumed the GoM discussion page was the place to post my comment, but I guess I didn't make it clear enough that my note was a suggestion for that page. --RoyHarmon (talk) 21:42, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
Well, there are lots and lots of subtleties that I have to skip for making the guide concise and easy to use. I guess that anyone who wants to understand things better got to either carefully read the skills and think it through, or go through the theory page where I broke down anything I thought is required to really understand every choice I've made in the build. Foo 21:45, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
...but I also get your point, which is why I just linked the theory page from my latest comment on the talk page :] Foo 21:48, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
It's your page and you can do what you want with it, but I was under the impression that discussion pages were intended for discussion, not monologues. And it seems counterintuitive to channel such discussion to your user page; I never would have looked there for anyone's comments about the GoM guide. --RoyHarmon (talk) 21:51, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

I just tried this build first time and I noticed that having EoE is a problem for the 2nd bonder monk. The monk ran out of energy while recasting EoE because that meant she couldn't use Blessed Signet for 5 seconds. IMO it's better to put EoE on another ranger hero (party member 5-8). I need to test more - on my 2nd try the whole party wiped a few seconds after activating the berserker scroll for an unknown reason. Everybody was dead at once. Selice

It's obviously safer to put it on another hero, ideally a ranger with max BM, but with enough energy and proper keystone (and everything else done right) it shouldn't be a problem letting that hero carry EoE. Especially at higher LB. (btw, sign your messages with ~~~~). Foo 18:39, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll try again next weekend. Are there any insights on the usefulness of Necros as bonders? They cannot use Blessed Signet effectively, but Soul Reaping would probably generate more than enought energy. Since I'll put EoE on a dedicated ranger, Necro/Monk could be bonderns. You even mention necros on the theory page. Anyway, I need to test more and find out what caused the wipe. Selice (talk) 19:29, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
Necro bonders are usually better than monk bonders. SR>BS. Only issue is that they have a harder time getting to 13 prot. If you get on Discord, add me as gwfoo and I'll have an easier time helping you out. Send screenshots of your setup. Foo 19:33, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
The setup doesn't seems to be "stable" and contain a luck component. I tried another time: the whole fight ran fine for about 30 minutes, without me touching anything and just watching. Then I noticed that the monks suddenly started losing energy too fast and 5 seconds later I was dead. There was no additonal aggro or enemy on the screen. It seems that after everything went fine for half an hour, the monks suddenly couldn't keep up for a moment. Bad luck. Selice (talk) 10:37, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
Considering I've ran it for over 10,000 hours, including reaching a 87/97/100 million xp survivors (who died elsewhere), I do deem it stable when ran properly. Pm me on discord if you wanna share more detailed about your setup so that I could help figuring out what's wrong. Foo 09:51, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
