guild hosting districts during special events[edit]

I removed your comments. There have been so many guilds who have done that in the past the articles would turn into pure guild lists. Add that stuff to your own guild info, but not on mainspace please. Exception would be if you host some special event yourself. Like that Mursaat rally thingie some years back. Alrighty. I'll get around to adding our events we hosted the past few years in various towns. I just wanted to let the community be aware that since we're the largest presence in the game we'll be hosting each event every year and there should never be a question of "Will I enjoy this event this year?", but if it's against the rules, then I'll abide by them! :) Thanks again for fixing those for me. -- Kurzick Krozz (talk) 09:31, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
Well, that's a worthwhile objective. I'm not too hot about adding it to the mainspace articles, on the other hand if you only add it to your guild's page people will not notice. CNY#Notes is as much as I could find in a quick search. Maybe Greener's got a snappy idea? Steve1 (talk) 10:45, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
The wiki does a far better job disseminating information about the game, which is static, than the community, which is always in flux.
Main space articles cannot properly track what the community is doing without dedicated curation, and that often falls short no matter our original intentions. We allow for the Guild and User spaces to act as moments-in-time, with updates occurring by fortunate happenstance; a more active guild or user is more likely to update their page. The state of the Guild space can best be exemplified by Category:Recruiting guilds, a list that no one is capable of vetting. We should not let information on our Main space to follow in kind.
As for snappy solution, we're in the age of social media: Reach out across the platforms; reach out to Anet; let the GW1 community know you're out there and wanting to celebrate together. You can point people to your guild page as a central hub of information, but don't forget all of the other places where people exist in this day in age. G R E E N E R 16:57, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
