1[edit]

Can you please explain your vote? Why does it matter how many edits he has on GW2W when he has over 1300 here? – Emmett 22:18, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

File, Userpage and Talkpages don't count as edits :). Taking all of those mean is has <300. And I personally find it an important factor of a sysop :). --Naut User Naut Dark Blue Monk.png 22:58, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
How do edits to talk pages not count? Do you not consider good communication skills, conflict resolution, etc important to be a sysop? The job is far from just doing uncontroversial bannings and deletions. Furthermore, you still didn't answer my question about why you were talking about GW2W. – Emmett 23:13, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Because being a sysop here means (I think/hope) auto sysop at GW2W, and being more active over there I would like to have input on who is 'in-charge' there, not just having some newbie who is unaware of what is going on. Anyways this discussion is irrelevant due to the person in question has withdrew. --Naut User Naut Dark Blue Monk.png 23:19, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Sysop status here does not automatically make you one on GW2W. That was only used at the beginning as a way to establish a standing staff. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 23:23, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah okay, thanks for the confirmation :). I would cross my vote, however due to Shadow withdrawing theres no point... --Naut User Naut Dark Blue Monk.png 23:29, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) I have under 100 *total* edits there; however, how does that affect my job performance? Am I somehow unable to be an effective sysop just because I choose to spend my time elsewhere? I don't think so. Also, grandfathering from here to there is only temporary, and once the wiki picks up more (which should be fairly soon) a new adminship policy will be decided on ; rather than bring GW2W politics here, I think it would make more sense to simply argue against grandfathering there once it comes to that time. Additionally, as I pointed out (and as Shadow Runner pointed out in his opening statement), being neutral and having good conflict skills can hardly be considered "unaware of what is going on". I also do not believe this argument is irrelevant because there will most likely be more RfAs that you will potentially comment on, and I feel like this previous vote was unfair and hope to avoid seeing that in the future. – Emmett 23:30, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Whether or not my first point was irrelevant, I still agreed with the voters point above me. Therefore my vote is still valid (Or in your words: Fair).. And I may I point out that I never set out for this to be an 'arguement'... --Naut User Naut Dark Blue Monk.png 23:37, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
