To your speculations: That's not related to the bloodstone, those statues are seen throughout Prophecies, for instance at the end of Iron Mines of Moladune. They are cases of Jade Armor/Bows. Play through that mission to see what I mean, at Markus there are 4 and they all "turn" into Jade Armors.
Zhed: Was he even part of the beta? IIrc, the NF beta only included Istan. Paw also makes no sense for a centaur and if you note all centaur names have the last name related to a part of a horse (mane, hoof, etc.).For some reason I was thinking the open beta week.
Nahpui: Yes, that's burned out. There's also a section in Xaquang just like it. You can see smolders and charred wood in them both.
