Modding Suggestions[edit]

If there is a mod you would like Mystical Chaos to create, feel free to leave your requests or suggestions here. No armor\cape mods please.--Pyron Sy 03:42, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I would love to see a map with some spawn points on for chests in normal mode of old ascalon, to help with chest running for lucky title ;) Toots 21:58, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

elite skills or chests 70.240.102.32 22:46, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Chest spawn points are, at the moment, out of the question. It would require a great deal of research in the various zones to determine all the spawns. As far as elites, we may go with that one, but there's currently a debate amongst the team as to how we would go about it.--Pyron Sy 22:49, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
I am already making a mod for the elite skills for a while but i had some problems with school. Now i am back on it, i hope we are not making the same mod now. Schaapie 19:23, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Never mind it is just too much work for 1 man alone i stopt working on the project.

If you're after a large project, I've thought about adding the bounty types to each shrine on the mission map. Something along these lines, except in elona and non-bad ;p -- AT(talk | contribs) 17:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Excellent idea. I'll throw it to the team, and see what we can come up with.--Pyron Sy 20:30, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if this is possible, but it would be really cool to have a few mods which you could run to make the sky night sky, sunset, thunderstorming, etc. Bo 09:37, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Thunderstorms aren't possible, however changes in the day/night cycle are. I could change from day to night. In a test mod that changes Wizard's Isle's look, we have an dark, overcast sky in effect there.--Pyron Sy 10:00, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

My suggestion for next project, a remake of halloween or wintersday for all the towns.. (if possible)

This is not a possibility. It would require adding the decorations, which is beyond the scope of texmod. All that is possible is retexturing creatures or UI elements.--Pyron Sy 23:11, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Is it possible to edit the character select screens to make them look like the old nightfall and factions ones instead of the GW:EN one? just an idea -- Trackr 20:35, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

All that could be edited is the far background image. It would not be possible to remove the campfire, the trees, or any other foreground object.--Pyron Sy 22:07, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
ok thats what i wasn't sure of, ill let you know of any other ideas -- Trackr 16:57, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Question about the mod[edit]

Hi, when I load the tyrians gmc made easy .tpf file, and run guild wars, the mod doesnt show up in my game when i open the mini-map or the large map. Is there something I'm doing wrong? -well i dont know what im doing wrong, I simply load the .tpf, press run, and guild wars opens. Feedmenow 20:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I need to know a couple things first. Have you run any mods before? If so, is mine the only one that doesn't load? Are you running DirectX 9? Are you running any other programs that affect Guild Wars, such as multi-instance programs or bots?--Pyron Sy 21:04, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
I am having the same issue, it simply doesn't load. After selecting GW.exe and the propper mod and hitting run, the game remains the same.65.23.233.98 22:19, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
It's a possibility your video card can't handle DirectX9. I've also heard of issues involving onboard video.--Pyron Sy 23:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I have no idea how to run mods so i have many questions- where do i save it? do i have to install anything? etc. could you please put a step-by-step guide to loading mods on the actual mod page or here? Thanks! Auzzie 20:12, 30 August 2007

See Guide to modifying in-game graphics. -- AT(talk | contribs) 00:16, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, are we sure we can use these mods? A.net allows to use them or we risk a ban using them? (sorry for my english)

Gaile has said that while A.net can't officially approve the use of texmod, they won't ban someone for using it.--Pyron Sy 02:20, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm having problems using the program...I load it using textmod as per the directions on the mod page on this wiki, but none of the maps are changed. I am using DirectX9.0c. Thanks!

Do any other mods work for you? And what model is your video card?--Pyron Sy 00:23, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

There is somthing that could be better[edit]

Hi, your cathography-mods are nice, but if there is a single spot at the middle of a map you cant see it. but if you make a totaly transparent bar, one or two pixel wide, at the right side of the texture for the transparency of the spots. (the last pixel has leave to be white 100%).and it would be easier to find the place where you can clean the spots. Mystic Gohan 9:30, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

I'll give your suggestion a try, and if it works, I'll add it to the next edition.--Pyron Sy 09:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Thx. If you need a more perfect tyria map, just say it ^^. ( maybe around 103% xD ) Mystic Gohan 15:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

We've collected dozens of screenshots our mapper missed, and he's currently working on those areas. However, I'd be happy to accept any shots of missed areas to add to the map.--Pyron Sy 20:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
are you guys going to release a more complete version of the map soon? Shadow X 16:33, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Mapping is in progress. Once we've added in all the new unmapped areas, we will rebuild and release the mod.--Pyron Sy 17:39, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Would it be possible to have a line or footprints around each zone so it is easier to tell how to reach the edges? I have a few spots I couldn't really get to Shadow X 03:25, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

That wouldn't be possible with the way the textures are generated. You'd end up having footprints scattered all over the place.--Pyron Sy 04:01, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Tyria compatible with GW:EN[edit]

Was wondering if you or your group were working on a Cartography map that is compatible with the release of GW:EN?

Yes, the updated mod is in progress.--Pyron Sy 21:11, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Found additional spots in Cantha[edit]

Hi your mod is pretty nice. I have used it, finding several missed spots in Cantha. While I have been doing that, I noticed that on contrary the maps you are using to compare are missing some small spots I have uncovered. If you are interested in those, my whole map is here: http://www.voidalliance.net/Screenshots/gw/mapGWcantha.jpg I can also take ingame screenshots with the mod active showing the black spots if thats of any help. Leave me message here or PM ingame Skaare of Aiur. 24/09/2007 14:24

Tyrian Map Update (so far)[edit]

How are you coming along with the Tyrian Map Update so far? I know many of us are very anxiously looking forward to its release! Thanks!

yeah, i check this almost daily waiting for this update, i'm almost done with exploring by normal hugging without the mod...
Real life sucks. Issues beyond my control delayed release, but the update is now available, with GW:EN support!!!--Pyron Sy 02:07, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Heh, I was checking this ludicrously often too :P. Scraping 3 continents was enough; lazy alternative ftw. Nice one Pyron; will go test this. GJ! --BlueNovember 16:27, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
